Regrets?

As we were headed back inside the inn, Sai came up to us, or a clone of his at least. "I will tell you what Sakura really came here to say, but wasn't able to." he said to us.

"What she really came to say?" Naruto asked.

Sai nodded, "Sakura didn't come here to confess her love to you. She came to tell you something that's been decided by the current members of Konoha." Sai said. "It's been decided, that Sauke will be dealt with by Konoha's hand. All your comrades will take action based on this." he told us.

"Sakua-chan, she.. did she really agree to this?!" Naruto asked shaking Sai. "Sakura-chan really loves Sasuke-kun.. still.. she would.." Naruto said.

"After the recent attack on Konoha by the Akatsuki, the shinobi of Konoha can no longer ignore Sasuke who is collaborating with Akatsuki." Sai explained. "Sakura is not an idiot, nor is she a child who doesn't understand the situation and circumstances. That's why she came here in person to tell you this." he said.

"This is just a mess." I sighed.

"She's planning to kill Sasuke by herself." Kakashi said.

"Probably." Sai answered, nodding his head.

"Even if, I don't think she'll be able to bring herself to do it. She's not that type of person." I said. "But.. Sasuke will kill her if she stands in his way go his vengeance.." I said looking at Kakashi and he nodded in agreement.

"She really, really loves him.." Naruto mumbled.

"It's because she loves him. She doesn't want him to continue his evil ways." Sai said. "She wants to save him from the path of evil. Even if it means she has to kill the one she loves with her own hands. That's how committed she is in her love for Sasuke."

".. Saving him from the path of evil... kill the one she loves.. committed... and here I am, letting him go further and further down the path of evil, not even trying to stop him..." I thought to myself.

Shortly after, Gaara appeared in front of us, along with Tamari and Kankuro, explaining what had happened at the Summit. I looked at Kakashi, "I'm not really interested in becoming Hokage... I'd have to head back to Konoha and hear what the others had to say." he said.

"Let's continue this conversation, assuming Kakashi is going to be Hokage." I said.

"If our reaction is too slow, Madara and Akatsuki will gain the upper hand." Yamato said.

"Naruto, this war is to protect the hachibi and kyuubi, in other words, you. And also for the sake of the shinobi world. As kazekage, I will protect you with my life. If Uchiha Sasuke stands before the Allied Shinobi Forces as a subordinate of Akatsuki, I will show no mercy." Gaara said.

I watched Naruto and Gaara's exchange silently. Gaara then left with Tamara and Kankuro to prepare their village for the upcoming war. I sighed and rubbed my neck. "Another war.." I mumbled, and turned my gaze to the darkened sky.

"...Sasuke and I ended up being together because he knew me longer, and because of his childhood crush... if I hadn't returned and had stayed dead to the world.. he may have fallen for Sakura instead.. Sakura loves him enough to go kill him because she doesn't want him to continue his path of vengeance.. while I don't like this path he chose, he needs to decide for himself if this is what he really wants... Is what either of us doing the right choice? Which would be best for Sasuke?" I closed my eyes and sighed.

I felt a hand on my shoulder and turned to see it was Kakashi. "Are you okay?" I turned to Kakashi and nodded.

"I'm fine, don't worry about it." I smiled.

"Alright then. Yamato, you and Naruto will go back to the village. Sai, (Y/n) and I will go stop Sakura." Kakashi ordered. I nodded and looked back at Naruto, whose been silent for a while.

"Naruto? Hey, you okay?" I walked towards him and placed a hand on his shoulder. He was breathing heavily. "Hey, Naruto!" I stepped in front of him. His hand was over his chest, and he suddenly fell onto his knees. I caught him as he fell forward. "He's hyperventilating!" I told the others and adjusted my position in holding Naruto. "Hey, hey. Relax, deep breaths." I locked eyes with Naruto as I told him brief instructions. "In and out." I told him and his eyes slowly fluttered closed as he collapsed onto me.

"Naruto!" Sai and Yamato and Kakashi called him full of worry.

"Let's take him inside." I said and Sai helped me carry Naruto inside.

We laid out his futon and I gently laid him down. He was breathing irregularly, but he was calmer then before. I sat next to him and held his hand, running my thumb back and forth over the back of his hand.

I didn't realize I fell asleep when I opened my eyes seeing Kuruma again. I was confused as to why I was there, but Kuruma just stared at me. "Hey." I smiled.

"What do you want?" he asked me.

".. nothing." I said and walked inside the gates and sat on his snout once again and lay down.

"You look upset." he said to me.

"How I feel should be the least of your worries." I smiled turning to him.

He raised a hand up and pet me with his finger and I smiled at his odd kindness. "If I tell you, you're going to be annoyed." I said.

"There's nothing else to do here." he said and I smiled.

"It's about Sasuke, and my decision in not trying to stop him like Naruto and Sakura. I don't know if I should be helping them stop him, or if I should let him continue. I know what he's doing is bad and all, but with the circumstances that led to this point, trying to stop him.. wouldn't that just push him further away?" I asked Kurama.

"You humans with your useless emotions." he grumbled and I smiled.

"What do you think? Come on, aren't you old and wise?" I asked and I saw him roll his eyes.

He just sighed. "Who said there is a right path? There is more than one way to do things." He told me. "However, death only brings more death." he said to me. "Regarding that Uchiha's revenge, nothing will change after it's all over. His clan will still be dead, his brother's sacrifice will forever be hidden under lies and hatred. Revenge is a double edged sword, you may end up killing yourself in the process." he said to me.

".. Thanks." I smiled and slid off his nose. "I'll visit again." I said waving bye and leaving.
