We all headed out. The rain pelting down on us from above. Eventually it had stopped raining, and I had put my hood down. "Our mission to find Itachi, and bring him in, begins now." Kakashi said to us. "Akatsuki is after the tailed beasts, and we have reason to believe they've obtained the 3 tails. According to Jiraiya-sama's data, they may have already infiltrated the Fire Country, targeting Naruto. Uchiha Itachi is from Konoha, 3 years ago he returned to the village in an attempt to capture Naruto." Kakashi said.

"So, he'll be returning to Konoha again?" Sai asked.

"So will Sasuke-kun when he comes looking for Uchiha Itachi." Sakura said.

"Yeah, I'm gonna find Sasuke, no matter what it takes." Naruto said.

"Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves." Captain Yamato said stepping forwards.

"Here's the plan. This will serve as our first center point. We'll do a 5 km search in every direction. If we don't find anything, we'll establish a new center point and repeat the process. And so on and so forth." Kakashi said.

"5km? Our radios will be out of range." Sakura said. "If we split up, it will be dangerous. It's the rules that all patrols are made up of 2 man cells." she added. "If we were to make contact with the enemy-" Sakura continued when no one seemed to mind.

"Sakura, don't get so stressed." Captain Yamato stopped her from talking.

"Pay attention." Kakashi said. He did a summing and his 8 dog summons appeared.

"Our voices can reach farther than a radio, and our noses can detect danger, in an instant are at your command." Pakkun said as he showed up.

"Now, on to the patrol formations. Every member will be accompanied by 2 ninja dogs." Kakashi said.

"2 dogs? b-but.." Sakura said again.

"Be nice, all of you." Kakashi said.

Sakura got her 2, Shino got his 2, Sai got his 2. "What bout me?" Naruto asked.

"Naruto, you're the jinchuriki they're after. Just in case you were involved in a battle, you'll be paired with Yamato and our scout, Hinata." Kakashi said.

"Along with big black bull." Pakkun said as a big black dog walked towards Naruto.

"(Y/n), you have a wolf summon, your summon should be sufficient for you." Kakshi said and I nodded.

I did the necessary hand signs and a wolf slightly bigger than Akamaru showed up instead of Kenta. "Hey, you're new." I smiled and he looked up at me.

"I'm Kenta's son! My name is Jinko." he said and I smiled nodding. He turned his back to me. "Hop on." he said and I smiled and climbed on and he faced Kakashi.

"Now all of us have dogs, and a wolf." Kakashi said motioning to me as I was petting Jinko's fur.

"First and foremost, you'll be tracking the scent of Itachi and Sasuke. If you are to encounter either of them, mark their location and return here." Kakashi said. "Especially you Naruto. Don't go running ahead of us." Kakashi said.

"All right! Let's move out! Scatter!" he said and we all went in different directions.

Me and Jinko headed North West. "Jinko, do you know how they smell?" I asked.

"Your clothes have a faint smell from another person. It doesn't match anyone who was with us, so I assume it's this Sasuke person?" he asked.

"Yes, it is." I said.

"It's very faint, so I'm sure the dogs didn't notice it, but since I'm right under you, I can smell him and distinguish him. I have no knowledge of this, Itachi's, scent though." he said.

"Oh, I might have something." I said and reached into my back pocket and pulled out a scroll. "I got a letter from him, a few days ago, is it enough?" I asked and Jinko turned his head towards it and gave it a quick sniff.

"Yeah, I can smell him, and traces of a bird. I think a crow as well." he said.

"No need to tell anyone about this letter." I said.

"No worries." he licked my hand and I smiled.

"Besides, it's just a letter...." I added. "Nothing important was in it." I said putting it away.

"Why do you carry it with you?" he asked.

"I forgot I put it in my pouch.." I laughed a bit as we jumped down to the ground and sniffed around as the winds changed.

"It's 5km here." Jinko said, and I slipped off his back.

"Let's head back slowly, no need to rush, Just in case we missed something." I said and Jinko nodded.

"I'm picking up Sasuke's scent. But it is faint. It's mixed in with other scents. I think he's moving with other people." Jinko explained to me.

"There was a rumor that Sasuke was looking for teammates from Orochimaru's old hideouts." I said.

"That must be why. I can smell it in the wind, his scent is mixed in with at least 3 others, coming from the North, East and South. And.... behind us?" he turned around.

"Behind us?" I asked.

"Yes, towards those mountains. It's about 5 more km. It has the strongest smell for Sasuke." he said.

"... let's go check it out." I said softly, climbing back on Jinko.

"Alright." he said and Jinko quickly ran towards the scent. When we were about 2 km away. I made Jinko stop. "You should go home. I'll call you again when I need you." I said, petting him and he nodded.

I slowly made my way in the direction we were heading. I was able to sense Sasuke and who I remember to be, Deidara! "So, he didn't die.." I thought.

I knelt down as I saw a clearing ahead of me. I saw a crater in the ground, and Sasuke was there, looking forward. I looked at Deidara, then behind him, was another member in an orange mask that covered his face. The orange masked member seemed familiar to me, but I couldn't tell who it was.

"... this... can't be good.." I thought.
