"amber i told you that i dont know what you're going to do with andi. i think she likes you. anyway can we come stay with you? literally every where else we've tried to stay has been...insane." i ask watching amber, my cousin, wash the counters of the spoon before closing.

"tj, i dont kn-" i cut her off right there.

"what about the time i helped you sneak in the house because you were out past curfew? or the time your parents found out someone was smoking their cigarettes and i took the blame for you? or-"

"fine! tj, you and cyrus can stay with me. my apartment's pretty small but i have a couch that turns into a bed that you guys can sleep on." she says. "we close in like 5 minutes. you can go sit in my car until im done?"

"here," amber hands us a blanket and a few pillows. "now don't try anything these walls are thin and i dont want to be woken up to- I'll stop."

"amber you know we're not like that." cyrus says rolling his eyes.

"you never know- people can look really innocent but be really kinky...trust me i know a girl." she winks. must be andi.

"why weren't you at the party?" i ask sitting the pillows and blanket down.

"i dont party much anymore. every since i got kicked out i cant afford it. i can afford getting wasted and buying drinks upon drinks upon drinks. i have to have food and pay for this apartment by myself. andi called me but i denied." she sighed. "well i have to go to bed guys. i have to work a double tomorrow from 8am-10pm. in the morning you can just have some cereal or make some eggs? night."

she walks off into her room and closes the door.

"who is that and what did she do with amber?" i laugh.

"exactly." cyrus laughs with me.

he lays down in the bed and puts the blanket over him. "come here im cold."

i crawl in the bed with him and wrap my arms around him.

"see, you're warm." he smiles and gets as close as he can to me.

we lay in a comfortable silence until i speak up. "goodnight cy."

"goodnight" he says drowsily.
