Air. Something as simple as air was enough to bring Kailani back to her senses. The second the cold air hit Kailani's face, her legs nearly gave out on her as everything began flooding back. She had nothing. Barely had her shirt on. No shoes, no phone, nothing. Not even pants. She didn't know where she was or where she was going.

But she didn't care. She just ran and ran farther from the building until she couldn't even feel her legs anymore.

Once she turned a corner, she ran directly into someone, causing the two to crash to the ground.

"OW!"

Kailani stilled, scared of who the person was. She laid on the cold ground, trying not to burst into tears.

"Oh my God, Kai!!" the person yelled. Their voice was distorted in Kailani's ears, almost like they were distant. Not close enough to be right beside her. She refused to turn around and kept her eyes closed.

"Kai.. it's me." the voice said. She felt the person get closer and put their hands on her shoulders, causing her to flinch.

"Kailani, what happened?" the person tried again. That time, Kailani suddenly recognized the voice.

It was Kaycee.

She slowly turned and saw the brunette, whose eyes were wide and filled with worry. "Kayc.." she whispered before finally breaking down.

Kaycee wasted no time wrapping her arms around the latter, holding her tighter than ever before.

After a few minutes of crying, Kailani finally looked up and sniffled. Kaycee tightened her grip before slowly lifting the both of them from the ground.

"Come on, let's get you somewhere safe." she said softly, taking off her jacket to wrap around Kailani's shoulders.

The two began to walk down the street in silence with Kaycee clutching Kailani to her side. They were about the same height which made it easier for Kaycee to keep her arms around the latter. Kailani felt like she was in a daze, still not completely sure of the events that had just occurred.

They kept walking and walking until Kailani finally spoke.

"Kayc.. where are we going?" she asked quietly, her voice almost in a whisper. She noticed Kaycee had momentarily pulled her grip away to send some texts.

She sighed, wrapping her arms back around her. "I.. I can't get anyone to pick us up. Kylie and Devon are in Hawaii with my parents and everyone at Kenneth's had been drinking so I can't call them to get us. And for some reason, there are no freaking Ubers in this area so we have to go to—"

"I can't go back to Kenneth's.." Kailani quickly said, cutting her off.

"We're not." Kaycee shook her head. Suddenly, they cut through a street that was very familiar to Kailani and it all made sense the further Kaycee led her past the next few houses.

They were going to Sean's.

"Kaycee.." Kailani began, her voice suddenly getting caught in her throat.

"Kai.. it's okay. I know this wasn't the best place to bring you right now but my house is way too far to walk to in this cold." she sighed as they walked up towards Sean's front door. "We just need to get you somewhere safe inside so—"

As if right on cue, the door swung open to reveal Serris, who looked worried sick in her pajamas and robe.

"Kayc.. Kai.." she breathed out in relief, pulling them inside and into her embrace. Kailani felt grateful for her presence despite what her brother had just done. She finally felt safe.
