The Battle

Second day of training

The next morning at 4 o clock. Warrant Officer Rick yelled for us to get up and get dress. I got dress, but after I finished, I didn't even bother to have breakfast, instead, I followed Rowan to where he was going to eat, when we sat down at a table. I turned to him and said: "Rowan, Warrant Officer Rick wants us to go into war with them, in two months." Rowan looked surprised and then he spits a full mouth of eggs. I looked at him and started to laugh. "Aren't you excited?" He looked at me and said. "Yeah I'm excited." he got up and went to get a napkin, when he returned, he cleaned up the eggs and threw his plate away. "Well Warrant Officer Rick told me that about in a month we have to go back to him and study the mission."

"Oh okay." After breakfast, we went to where the other men where, who were lined up, and Warrant Officer Rick was in the middle of the field, he looked at me then at Rowan, then smiled. "Now everyone we are going to play a game called Kims, each of you guys are going to have your own table, I have a table set up that has 4 items, you guys will have 3 minutes to look at the items, when time is up, you go back to your tables and Warrant Officer Rixon and I will come around and you guys have to describe the items you saw, you can't say the names of the items you have to describe them. Now get to your tables." I ran to my table as fast as I could.

When I got their sergeant Rick said "now you guys have 3 minutes. When I shoot this gun, you may go." Warrant Officer Rick held up his pistol high, he had one of his fingers on the trigger, then he pulled down on the trigger and the gun shot went off. Everyone took off even I did, I ran as fast as the wind could carry me, when I got there, I saw a sniper bullet, a paper clip, a bottle cap, and a pen. I studied them for a moment, then Warrant Officer Rick yelled. "Times up! Get back to your tables, now, let's go!" As I took off, I could picture the bullet, pen, bottle cap, and paper clip, as I got back to my table, Warrant Officer Rixon came up to me and said, "now describe the sniper bullet." I remembered the sniper bullet and said, "it was long, golden, and at the end was pointed."

"Good job. Now describe the paper clip"

"Okay, um. It was silver and it was a silver wire bent into two ovals."

"Excellent son. Now describe the bottle cape." I tried to remember what the bottle cap looked like then it finally clicked inside of me. "It was white and it was a circle and if you rub one of your fingers on the outside it has like little lines." He looked at me with surprised and said. "You're doing really well. Now the final item, describe the pen."

"Okay then it was black, on the top was smooth, on the outside was also smooth close to the bottom had these silver strips, the tip of it was sharp and pointed." He wrote on the clipboard and said in a stern voice "that was excellent, you passed, and I'm excited to have you in battle my friend." He walked away and went to Warrant Officer Rick, it looked like they were talking about something, but I couldn't hear what they were saying.

They stopped talking and Warrant Officer Rick looked at me and nodded, I return with a nod of my head, after an hour and a half, Warrant Officer Rick yelled. "Now everyone, get up and go over to that shed over there, get a M24. You guys are going to practice shooting for two hours, then we are going to run 4 miles. Then you guys are going to do some heavy work. Which means that you guys are lifting some weights." I went in the shed and grabbed M24, when I got back, I got on my stomach and aimed at the target, I looked through the sniper scope and I blocked out everything around me and just focus on my target. When I shot it hit the middle of the target and I did it again and again, I kept getting it in the middle.

Warrant Officer Rixon came up to me and said, "great job son." I looked at him and smiled. I looked over my shoulder and saw Warrant Officer Rick talking on the phone, when I looked to my right, I saw Rowan just staring at me, I looked at his target and saw that he been missing the target, Rowan got up and threw his sniper rifle on the ground, he looked jealous of me, Warrant Officer Rixon looked at Rowan, who left and looked back at me and said. "Don't worry about him, he's probably just frustrated, just continue on shooting." I looked at him and nodded, then I looked back at the target and started shooting again.

After two hours, training was over. I heard my name being called and it was Warrant Officer Rick, I walked over to him and asked. "Yes sir. What do you want?" It looked like he had some exciting news. "The General wants to see you. He said that I should bring you over to the station."
"Okay" me and Warrant Officer Rick walked over to the station to see the General of the army.
