Morning rolls around and I make my way to the living room after I get dressed. The living room seems to be our main spot to hangout, so I figured I'd see who else is up. To my luck, I see my two friends and I immediately walk over to Ethan and ask him a question. It's the question. I wonder what urged him to tell Devin that I was sharing a room with Fergie. If anything, I thought Tamara was going to be the one to snitch.
I'm sure Devin meant no harm when he came into the room last night, but he's overprotective. He doesn't like the idea of any guy sharing a room with his little sister, he doesn't care who it is. It's not like Fergie was going to try anything because he doesn't see me in that way. I'm the one who tried to bust a move last night. I wanted him to look at me, and he did. He made sure to tell me that he didn't want to look at me. That surely bumped my ego down a few notches.
"Wassup." I sat down on the couch, looking at Ethan and Tamara.
"Did you have fun last night?" Tamara wiggles her eyebrows.
"Girl, I told you I don't like him like that. He's like a brother to me." I lie.
"That's what you say." She hums. "I woulda been all over that."
"I didn't even stay in there with him last night."
"I'm confused." She frowns.
"Devin came in there and made me switch rooms with him. He said Ethan told him that I was sharing with Fergie." I shrug my shoulders.
"Bitch, you basically grown. You can do whatever the hell you want." She rolls her eyes and looks at Ethan. "You a snitch."
"I'm not a snitch. It just came up in the conversation." He shrugs his shoulders.
"It came up in the conversation, my ass." She says. "You just don't wanna see me and my girl be great. She coulda got laid if it wasn't for you. For the first time!"
"Be quiet, don't be telling my business." I shush her. "And I didn't even wanna hook up with him. How many times do I have to tell you, I just see him as a brother?"
"Girl please, everybody and they mama know you're a virgin." She waves me off.
"Wow, it really be your own friends." My eyes widen.
"How'd it come up in the conversation?" Tamara asks Ethan.
"He just asked who ended up rooming with who because he thought I was sharing with Fergie." Ethan states.
That makes sense; I guess I can't be too mad at him.
"Oh, okay." I nod my head.
"Bet Fergie was disappointed." Tamara smirks.
"Fergie what?" We turn around to see Fergie walking into the living room.
"Nothing." I laugh.
"I could've sworn I heard my name." He furrows his eyebrows, sticking his hands in his pockets.
"You heard wrong." I shake my head.
"What's the plan for today?" Tamara asks.
"I was just thinking we could have a bonfire, watch movies, and play games. Just chill stuff." Fergie shrugs his shoulders.
Fergie walks into the kitchen and I ignore Tamara's smug look as I follow him. Fergie's used to me following him around—I always follow him and Devin around. They're like my other two best friends whenever I'm not with Tamara and Ethan. I hope the two of them are having fun right now because I promised them it would be.
"How was sleeping with Devin?" I ask.
"His loud snoring ass." He groans. "I seriously thought about throwing his ass out the window."
"I hate sleeping in the same room as him." I laugh. "And even if you're not in the same room as him, you can hear him."
"I ain't sleeping with his ass tonight, I don't care." He shakes his head. "He'd better sleep on the couch."
"Brittany hogged the covers the whole night. I was cold." I complain.
"What was his problem, though? It's not like we haven't slept in the same room before." He looks at me in a way I can't explain.
"Yeah, except for he was in the room with us." I shrug my shoulders.
"Wanna help me cook breakfast for everyone?"
"Sure."

"Bro, you got me fucked up if you think I'm finna go in the woods to find some damn firewood." Devin shakes his head.
"Dev, we're all going to look for some wood." Fergie laughs. "Relax, bro."
"Black people don't walk around in the woods. Sis, we ain't going." He points a finger at me.
Devin is seriously as paranoid as me when it comes to being in the woods. We grew up watching scary movies, so we know exactly what happens when a group of friends go in the woods.
"Dude, it's not gonna be scary if that's what you're thinking." Jake, one of their friends, say.
"Aight, if a nigga turn out to be dead, don't try and say shit about me at my funeral."
"I ain't know you were this funny." Tamara laughs.
"I swear, I didn't." Ethan chuckles. It seems like I'm seeing him smile for the first time since we've been on this little trip. Who knew it would take Devin being scared to get him to laugh?
"I don't know about you guys, but I'm just gonna go get the firewood." Fergie says and walks off into the woods.
I have an urge to follow behind his wandering body, but I refrain myself from doing so. I adore Fergie, I truly do, so I spend a lot of time thinking about him. Whenever I'm not around him, I wish I was around him. Whenever I am around him, it takes everything in me not to reach out and touch him. In a perfect world, I'd be his girl and he'd be my man. However, this is reality and I'm pining for a guy that will never see me in the same way as I see him.
