INT. SCHOOL- CLUBROOM - DAY
MIKIO NARRATES THE ACTIONS MADE AND SEEN
*Entering the clubroom the "Usual" scene greats Natsuki and me.*
Yuri:
(Glitching)
We-We-We-Welcome back, Mi-I-I-I-I-Makoto!
Mikio:
...hey?
Yuri:
Um...
*I guess Yuri didn't eat the cupcake. If she did, she would've been running over to me and asking me questions, panicking, probably telling me... that she... doesn't love me... well Yuri just looks behind to see Natsuki reading Manga.*
Mikio:
Look. I know something was off yesterday. Maybe it's because it was our... first time sharing poems... maybe it's because we're missing someone. But whatever happened yesterday was yesterday and no matter what I said, it made me think nothing less of you.
Yuri:
(Flattered)
Makoto. Don't say these things so frankly. You might make me a little too happy. I'm... really glad you are such an understanding person. And I'm really glad that you joined the club. Everyday gets a little brighter with you around, and-
Natsuki:
Hay? Have you guys seen Monika?
Yuri:
(Gasp)
I-I haven't a clue.
Mikio:
Probably practicing piano
(In mind)
Or hacking something. That rat.
Natsuki:
Well... Yuri... now that you're here... I'm sorry for yesterday. To... em... show my appreciation... I want to give you this cupcake I made with you in mind. It's your favorite.
Yuri:
No. I do not want a cupcake.
Natsuki:
Come on! It's blueberry. You'd kill for blueberry.
Yuri:
(Angry)
I said...
(Sigh; calm)
No...
*Yuri should apologize to Natsuki. That's what normally happens. Now she seems to still be so hostile to Natsuki. The only explanation I can think of is-*
Monika(O.S):
SORRY...! I'm super sorry.
*We all turn around to see Monika at the door.*
Monika:
I must've not heard the bell?
Mikio:
Practicing piano again?
Monika:
(Chuckles)
Oh. I was...
Mikio:
So how's Sigh-or-e doing?
Monika:
Oh I-... don't know her...? She's probably someone from another dating si- SCHOOL! I MEAN SCHOOL!
*real subtle, Monika.*
Mikio:
Whatever... I'm gonna go read the next chapter of the book. You two have fun.
*And so I sit privately in the classroom to read The Portrait of Markov. This chapter takes place a year after the events of the last one. Makoto continues his Job and seems to be treated well. He eats good food, sleeps in a good cottage on the campus, treated like family. But he still wants to leave due to the job he is forced to do. One day he's told to examine one of their new test subjects. Subject number 404. Once Makoto sees Libitina, the same girl from the beginning now unable to speak. He fell in love with her and she felt the same. However, he was forbidden to have any sort of affection to Limiting or he would be killed on the spot. It was in that chapter that he wanted to escape with Libitina on his side. And it is the next chapter where he attempts to break free. With his knowledge of the camp, a silent pistol, and a lot of perseverance, he breaks Libitina out of her prison. I decided that maybe Yuri would come over and talk about the book.*
