Consumed by the lens: Part 1 has reached 100k reads guys! I am so thankful. Thanks so much guys!!!

I walk through the hallways to find yet another person in this death maze I call my home.

It feels kind of weird to be calling this place home, but not as weird as if I were to call any other place home.

Home is where the heart is...

But does it have to be my heart? I know for a fact there are plenty of hearts in the basement...

Oh well.

Speaking of the basement, that might be where I find the one I'm looking for...

After a few minutes of looking around, I finally find stairs that lead down.

Naturally, you would expect this type of thing to scare someone. Unlike what you might think, the stairs were in excellent shape, built out of cement. It was very dark though, and cold. Freezing really.

I can't imagine how someone can work down here, let alone sleep down here too. But I'm pretty sure that's exactly what Smiley does. The only time I spoke to him was to say sorry after nearly knocking him to the ground when I was running around, trying to find my way out of the basement.

He seems like a decent guy though... right?

All I needed was to borrow some of his medical tools.

I find a metal door with a window in it. Looking through he window, I see a few medical tables and some suspicious looking jars, as well as multiple blood stains.

Remembering this as the room I had woken up in after blacking out, I decided to take my chances.

I slowly turn the door knob and pull the door open. It made an eerie creaking noise as it opened and inside the room it was silent except for what sounded like pencil on paper.

I step inside while holding the door open and look around. I see a shadow sitting in a chair in the corner. I squint in the darkness.

"Hello?" I don't get an answer.

I step forward and let go of the door behind me. It swings back and slams shut, louder than I expected which made me jump.

Then I see the figure reach up to the wall. I hear a small click noise and suddenly the room was flooded with bright white light.(I didn't mean for that to rhyme)

I finally get to see the figure and he looks just like I remember from the hallway. Jet black hair, pale skin, eyes that were so red I would have been sure they weren't real, and that mask that I remember so vividly.

"Can I help you?" He says in a voice that hinted that he was busy.

"Uh... I need... tools." I say, not sure what else to do. He rolls his eyes slightly, but in more of a friendly way than a rude way, which surprised me.

"You're welcome to anything in here. But if I don't get them back, it will be ugly." He said. That's more of what I was expecting.

I nod, thankful that he was helping me, but not sure where to find anything. I look at him, helpless.

He sighs and points over to a cabinet.

"Pliers, scalpels, syringes." He points to another one.

"Bone saws, knives, axes." He points to another.

"Nails, screws, drills." He points to another and chuckles.

"Hammers, mallets, bludgeons, bats." He finishes.

"And that is all you're allowed to use." I look at him again.

"Wait, but you said I could use any-" he narrows his eyebrows.

"That is all you're allowed to use..." I raise my hand in surrender and chuckle nervously.

"Understood." I walk over to the first cabinet and get to work quickly, grabbing only things I knew I would use and could carry.

Just in case you were wondering, no, Smiley is not the new character I talked about in the spoiler. That character will be introduced later.
