Your POV

I slammed the girl up against the wall of the alley, simultaneously taking the switchblade hidden in her pocket.

"You know, If you're going to stalk someone, at least pretend you know what your doing."

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN, 'SHE'S ALIVE'!?!?"

A young man with light brown hair was screaming at a shadow that had the appearance of getting smaller with every step forward the man took.

"Sir, I told you, I did exactly as you said, not even I could have foreseen what those two would do."

The shadows voice held a slight quiver that was soon replaced with venom as she thought of the two men that had pulled the target from the flames of her burning apartment. If she didn't make this job, her reputation would be ruined, and you and your....your bodyguards weren't making it easy.

"YOU'VE GOT ONE MORE CHANCE, THEN IM DONE WITH YOU!"

The brunet man was screeching again.

"Yes sir, I will succeed this time, sir."

Staring out the window, the dreary weather seemed to make the city sleep. The fog blanketed it so thickly, I couldn't see to the next block. I sorely wanted to stay in bed, but I had a shift soon and I needed to get ready.

One quick shower later, and I was getting a quick bite out of the fridge. Eating the toast I made, I made a movement to give a little butter to Lukas, but of course he wasn't here. I sighed.

Walking out the door, I turned to close it, locking the deadbolt with a thunk, just as Maria stepped out of her door.

"Hey neighbor!"

It turned and waved. "Hey Maria!" I cracked a smile, she was already starting to grow on me and it hadn't even been a week.

"Are you off to work as well?"

"Yeah, I work at the café on the square not far from here."

She smiled. "I know where that's at, actually I'm headed that way myself, mind if I walk with you?"

"No, not at all." I smiled back at her. Can she get any sweeter?

Chatting as we walked down the hall and to the elevator, I knew she was going to be a real life saver, literally.

My shift finally ended, and I was off to go check out some new monitors and towers, I need a new computer as fast as possible. And I needed to do some...research on the whereabouts of my two friends.

I walked down the street, eyes glued to my phone as I looked up relative prices for the parts I needed, I almost didn't notice the figure following me.

Wow, I need to get back into the swing of things.

I turned promptly into the next store, a small bakery, and began to look at some of the treats they had for sale, keeping an eye out for the person following me. It had been a young woman, about five foot four, and sandy brown hair. That's all I got from the quick look behind me.
