Third person POV

Two men were sitting in a lonely hospital room, one was sleeping, drooped over the side of the chair, his glasses almost falling off his nose. The other, dark bags visible under emerald eyes, kept a sharp eye on the (h/c) girl sitting peacefully on the bed in the center of the room. The room it's self was sickeningly sterile, everything too white and clean, the fluorescent light on the ceiling shed an almost blue glow that made everything it touched look sickly and pale.

The girl had a mask over her nose and mouth, pumping pure oxygen into her lungs so that she could breathe after she had inhaled a massive amount of smoke during the fire three days ago.

She still hadn't woken up, and the men hadn't left her side. Two Italians had come and gone over the three days, but were always pulled away by business, today only the two men where there.

The machine at her side that showed her steady heartbeat was the only indication that the girl still lived, and while the men desperately waited for her to wake, it was the only solace they had.

As the man with the tousled blond hair leaned back into his chair and fell asleep, a text chimed in his phone, a blocked number he never wanted to see again.

You made a grave mistake saving her like that.

Your POV

Beep Beep Beep Beep

I could hear my alarm clock beeping in my ear, as I slowly, sleepily opened my eyes. Only it wasn't my alarm clock. It wasn't my bed. It wasn't my room. This was a hospital

I fully opened my eyes with a start and sat up quicker than I should have. A splitting headache forced me back down onto the lumpy pillow again. Only then did I notice the mask on my face and the scratchy gown I was wearing. I looked around wondering what had happened, why was I in a hospital?

Then all the memories came flooding back, the flames, the smoke, a foggy memory of two shadows carrying me.

I sat up more slowly holding my head and attempting to take the mask off my face. After getting it off, my breaths became short and quick, as I found it many times harder to pull in the air I needed. I began to pull the needles and sensors of my arms. When I had gotten them all out I glanced to my left, only to see Alfie and Artie, both sleeping, but both looking as if they hadn't slept in years.

"Artie, Alfie, what happened?" I said to myself, trying to fit my foggy, faded memories back into place.

Alfred's POV

I sat up suddenly as my glasses almost fell off my nose, (Y/N) jumped slightly as I shot up.

Wait, (Y/N)?!

I took another look at the girl with mussed (h/c) hair sitting in the hospital bed, dressed in a crinkled hospital gown.

"What day is it Alfie?"

"Y- you're awake, thank God (Y/N)."

I sank back down into the chair, covering my face with my hands.

She woke up, she's ok, she'll be ok....

"Alfie? Are you ok? What happened?"

Eyebrows stirred next to me, he sat up and looked around, the bags under his eyes very apparent in the ghostly blue glow that was the only light in the room, the sky outside still dark.
