Ivy's Garden

Hi my name is Ivy. I'm just your everyday average girl... Not really. When I was little my mom had me help out in the garden. At first I hated it but, soon I began to want to be in the garden everyday. Everyday all I wanted to do was plant flowers. My mo eventually started letting me go into the garden alone because she didn't want to garden. But around my age of 12 something weird started happening. The roses started blooming as soon as I planted them. The sunflowers were taller than me after 20 minutes. I was scared to death. Mom mom come quick! I yelled. Sweetie what is it? She asked. Look! I yelled. I planted a daisy seed and it sprouted immediatly. My mom just smiled. "Sweetie we need to talk." She said. I walk inside and my mom pours tea. "You see when you were born you had green thumbs we had the doctors dye your fingers back to your skin tone but we knew you were going to have a special talent in the garden thats why your name is Ivy, but don't you see honey your special one in a billion!" I smile.

"So what your saying is I'm blessed?" I ask.

"Yes!" My mom exclaims. "Our family has always been special darling we're all blessed!" She hugs me and I smile. I'm blessed! I think.

2 years later.

I sigh as I plant the watermelon and watch it begin to sprout. Thats it for the day, I think. I walk inside the house to my little sisterrunning around after my kitten, Tiger. I lean down and pick Tiger up. "What are ya doing Maura?" I say jokingly.

"Um." She runs off. I laugh and start petting Tiger on the walk to my bedroom. I sit down and pull out my journal. Dear diary, I'm not so sure about this gift anymore! I have to be in the garden 8 hours a day! I love it but still I would like to have sometime to myself! sincerely, a frustarated person. "Ivy dinner is ready!" My mom calls. I get up and go eat.
