Chapter 33

Saturday December 14, 2018

7:05AM

Nia and the girls were still asleep when someone knocked on the door. Nia's head was pounding and she felt like the room was spinning. 

"I swear fo God somebody better be dead". She grumbled as she got out of her bed.

She went downstairs and opened the door, it was a policeman with Trey by his side.

"Ma'am does he belong to you?". The cop asked.

Nia's first instinct was to have Trey taken back to where ever the hell he was coming from. But she wouldn't wish jail on nobody.

"Yes he lives here". She stepped aside letting Trey in.

"Your neighbor called the police because he was seen sneaking out of your downstairs window". The cop continued.

"Yeah, he's my brother. He tends to sneak out when he isn't supposed to". Nia lied.

"Well alright ma'am thank you for your time". The cop walked off and Nia closed the door.

"You wanna explain this shit wit chu getting arrested?". Nia turned to Trey.

"I snuck out the window after ya boy Roscoe snuck me. Yo neighbor seen me coming out the window, I run. Five bag me down the street and that's that". He explained.

Nia couldn't even think straight. Her head was spinning.

She went into the kitchen and popped three Advil.

"I know you said you ain't wanna talk last night, but I was hoping since ain't nobody here, we could just clear the air right now". Trey asked.

"Ok lets go". Nia sat on the island.

"I just wanna start by apologizing bout last night, it wasn't the time or place fa us to talk shit out right in the middle of a party. I also wanna say that I miss my friend. Let's take relationships off the table. I miss you as my friend. And if I can at least get that back then I'll be cool". Trey apologized.

"I wanna say that I do want this to work. But, I feel like the level of trust you have in me isn't where it needs to be. I showed you how I feel bout chu, and I never gave you any reason not to trust me, so my whole thing wit this is, you don't trust me enough to leave me around my guy friends or if they call at certain times in the night I need you to not think that something going on when its not. Cause you and I both know that if it was Anaya or Jameer who called me that night you wouldn't have picked up my phone, which I still haven't gotten repaired. But besides the point, we can work on this. It's just gonna take me some time to forgive you for everything and get back to where we was". Nia talked.

"Ok, I'm glad that it wasn't a flat out no and I'm just grateful that chu gave me another chance to even work on what we got cause, what we had was special and I'on wanna be wit nobody else". Trey walked over to her.

He gave her a hug and kissed her forehead.

"Before we even start on a clean slate, I do wanna let chu know that I did give Roscoe my number and I do consider him and I friends". Nia told him.

"You already know how I feel bout that". Trey shook his head.

"Ok but, what y'all fought over was petty. I think you and him just need to sit down and talk to each other like civilized people cause end of the day, you made mistakes and so did he. Y'all both could've handled that whole situation different, shit to me it could've been avoided all together". Nia replied.

"I really ain't even tryna be friends wit him like that but I'll do anything for you". He nodded.

"Ok, I'll call Roscoe to set up a meeting between y'all and we'll see". Nia left the kitchen.

3:45PM

Nia woke up again and the girls were already downstairs talking to Trey.

"Yo when he hit chu, I was way to gone to even be like, wow Roscoe just knocked out Trey, the first thing that came out my mouth was, I think he gon need a drank after that". Jameer spoke making Trey and Anaya laugh.

"Y'all ready. Roscoe gon meet us at the Chik-Fil-A by school". Nia came into the living room fully dressed.

"Aww look at chu lookin like you lookin". Anaya hyped Nia up.

"Thanks but my head is spinning and I'm hungry so lets go". Nia replied turning around and walking to the door. 

They all piled in Jameer's car and drove to the Chik-Fil-A.

"Alright remember, you coming here to make peace. Not retaliate. Stay cool and listen to what he gotta say". Nia prepped Trey.

"Alright les go". Trey got out the car and headed for the door. 

They went inside and Roscoe was already sitting at a table.

"Hey Roscoe". Nia gave him a hug.

"Wassup Nia. I know yo ass hung over, you damn near drank the whole bottle of Henny". Roscoe chuckled.

"Listen man, Advil and Aleve are your friend". Nia pulled the bottles out her purse.

"Hey y'all". Roscoe waved to Anaya and Jmaeer.

"Yeer". Anaya greeted.

Jameer waved and the both headed to get some food.

"Get me a chicken sandwich and a twelve piece wit some fries and a lemonade". Nia called after them.

"Damn you can eat allat?". Roscoe looked hsocked.

"I may be little but I love me some food". Nia replied.

Trey walked up and Roscoe looked to him.

"The man of the hour, waddup Trey?". Roscoe sipped his drink.

"Nothing whats good wit chu". Trey took a seat.

"Alright boys, we aren't here to play who's dick is bigger. We came here so that y'all two can move past that shit that went down last night, so lets go talk it out". Nia commanded.

Roscoe and Trey both looked at Nia.

"Hurry up before my food get here cause after I eat I be ready to take a nap". She rushed them.

"I ain't got no beef wit Trey. I did what I did cause I felt disrespected and I have zero tolerance for disrespect". Roscoe began.

"Bro listen here, I just wanna say that what chu did was uncalled for. You snuck me and that's that. I ain't come here to fight I ain't come here to argue. What chu did was wrong and what I did was wrong. Point blank".Trey spoke.

"Ok and I apologize for sneaking you. I shouldn't have put hands on you and I could've handled it better". Roscoe apologized.

"Aww see that. Now hug and make up". Nia demanded.

"Hug?". Trey and Roscoe frowned.

"That's what the fuck I said. Hug it out, neow!". Nia raised her voice a little.

Both of them scrambled up and hugged.

"Yaay my friends are friends now". Nia cheered.

Jameer and Anaya came back with the food and Nia started eating.

"Alright y'all I got a five o'clock class but I'mma catch y'all later". Roscoe said standing up.

"Bye Roscoe". They all waved as he walked out.

"I'mma let chu know now it took everything in me not to slam kid on his head". Trey said once Roscoe was gone.

"Chill out and each cho food". Nia rolled her eyes.

She was just glad there was no more drama in her life.
