My Abused Puppy (Rewrite)

Chapter 1

The multi billionaire burnette, Seto Kaiba, can say when he opened the door to the persistent knocker, he was not expecting a beaten mutt to be there. However, he was, no matter how hard he tried to pass off the mutt as a nightmare.

Quick to move, he brought the bruised mutt into his house, or mansion as others enjoyed to call it. He didn't want the mangey thing in here, he would spill blood on his carpet, which costed much more than him. But, if he was taken to the hospital, rumors would certainly fly about a relationship between the two. Hateful or not.

Kaiba heard a groan behind him to find the mutt waking into the new seventh world of hell. Especially since the damned thing decided to come here instead of to one of the cuddle buddies he had. Although, due to his brother entering the room, Kaiba could not unleash his hell upon the mutt on his floor. He promised Mokuba he would shout less, in front of him at least.

Once again due to Mokuba, he had taken the rotten mutt to the hospital since Mokuba claimed he would run away. That disturbed Kaiba enough that he would take the beaten thing to the hospital. Especially with the risen amount of missing children, leaning more to the male gender, which only made Kaiba that more creeped out rather than angered. Who would desire a young boy?

Kaiba walked out of the hospital and was about to leave when his brother stopped him. Kaiba wanted to groan because he knew this would be more about the mutt. Which he had no interest in knowing.

"Big brother, can Joey live with us." Mokuba's request irked something in him and that nearly set off hell on earth. Until he remembered they were in public and, currently, he could not afford a scandal of any kind.

"No, Mokuba," Kaiba answered, usually this would be final to both parties in this argument, however, the younger party was not yet ready to give in. Kaiba turned to enter his car, believing his younger brother had given up.

Mokuba gathered his courage and voice before yelling, "I want a dog, Seto! I want Joey! You are never home, please let me have one person that can keep me company at home!"

Kaiba froze. Never home? I spend more time at home than he realizes.

"Mokuba. I said no. I mean no. That rotten, nasty, mangey mutt is not staying at the house!" Kaiba emphasized each adjective to describe how much he despised the idea of Joey staying at the house. Especially since they can barely stand each other when they meet in the street. How would he be able to deal with the mutt, if he lived in the house.

"Kaiba, we cannot leave Joey in the hospital! I overheard the nurses talking, Joey's dad is in rehabilitation. His friends are gone on a trip. Please don't let Joey be alone!" Mokuba screams each word with every breath in his lungs.

Kaiba stops and glares at his younger brother with ferocity. Slowly, Kaiba steps towards his brother as if he will beat him down.

"One, don't EVER call me Kaiba again. Two, that thing in the hospital can stay there for all I care. The only human I care about is you. The mutt can roll over and die before I give a damn about him," Kaiba said each word with an anger in him, that frankly terrified Mokuba. The younger brother started to shake as Kaiba continued to bore his eyes into Mokuba.

Kaiba blinked. Shit, not again. Rubbing his eyes, as if exhausted and sighing, he kneeled before Mokuba.

"I am sorry. I didn't mean to lash out at you like that. I will let... Joey stay at the house," Kaiba raised his little brother's head gently when he looked down and away from his brother. Mokuba nodded, a way to say he understood without talking to his brother. A sign that Mokuba had not yet forgiven him.

Kaiba raised himself and patted Mokuba's head before going into the hospital to pick up what was now his problem.

He went to the receptionist and asked her which room Joey Wheeler was currently infesting. Raising a nicely trimmed eyebrow at his choice of words, she informed him which room Joey was in. Kaiba's boots reverberated loudly against the brick walls of the mostly quite hospital hall, excluding a screaming child or two.
