My Brother's Gang Saved My Life

Shawn's POV

If I could go back in time and change one thing, it would be Nathan seeing his mom get shot in the forearm. He didn't deserve to see that. No kid deserves to see that. He froze in shock when he saw it happen. But what made it worse was when his best friend, Rich, was killed right in front of him. He was only 12 when it happened. He's different and I can tell. He cares deeply for everyone he is close to and doesn't leave the house without a weapon on him. Chase is the same age as Nathan and he still takes the dog with him everywhere.

He's 14 now and he can't wait to take over the gang when he turns 18. He loves his little sister Annabeth to the moon and back. He calls her Annie, Anna, Beth and Betty. When he calls her Annabeth then she knows he's being serious. She's 8 years old and loves to be around her brother. The dog is very good with kids and he lets her pull his fur or pinch him and he doesn't do anything.

"Dad!"

"Yeah Nate."

"Can me and Anna go to Kyle's?"

"Just keep her safe."

"I will."

Kyle, is really close to Nathan bit not as close as he and Rich were. Kyley changed when he found out Rich was killed. Him and Nathan have made it their life goal to slowly kill Rich's killer.

I watched as Nathan waited as Anna got ready. She came running down with Chase and she waved before they walked out the door. I didn't miss the sight of the gun Nathan had with him.

Nathan's POV

We were walking down to Kyle's house when I heard Betty crying from behind me. I turned around quick and saw two older guys about 12 laughing at her. I looked down at her and saw her bleeding from her knee. I turned around and walked over to them.

"What are you doing?"

"Messing around with this little girl. Why?"

"Well this little girl happens to be my sister and our father happens to be Shawn Murdock."

"Oh uh sorry."

"Get lost."

They ran off and Chase laid down and whined. He laid his head on Anna's leg that was bleeding.

"I know buddy. Lets get her to Kyle's so we can fix her up."

He barked and got up and ran into that direction. I picked my little sister and walk towards Kyle's. When I got there Chase was barking at the door.

"Chase come here."

He turned and ran to me just as Kyle opened the door. He looked over and ran out.

"What happened to my princess?"

"Two guys shoved her down and now she's hurt."

"Let's get my princess cleaned and fixed up."

Kyle has always called Annie his princess. He doesn't try to his the fact he's into my little sister. But he promised to wait. He almost 6 when she was born. They are a day apart. She was born the day before his birthday.

Chase followed us in and I closed the door and we went to the kitchen.

"Set her on the counter and get the first aid kit."

"Ok. You fet a wash cloth and get it wet and clean the blood away."

I got the wash cloth and got it wet and looked over at Beth. Kyle ran up to his bathroom to get the first aid kit. His mom wasn't home and his dad was on a mission.

"This might hurt a little but it will help okay Betty."

"Okay."

I placed the wet wash cloth on her knee and as I thought she yelped in pain. I winced at the sound but continued to clean the scratch. Kyle came down with the first aid kit and looked at the scratch.

"Two bandages should do the trick."

"Why not use one of the bigger bandages."

"Okay so that might work better than what I was planning."

I smiled and Kyle got out one of the bigger bandages and and put it on her knee. Annabeth got off the counter and ran off to play with Chase.

"She's so short."

"What are you talking about? She's only 4'9."

"Yeah bit she looks short compared to you. Your like 5'8."

"I'm 5'9."

"Yeah and your gonna be like 6 foot 5."

"Maybe."

He nodded and Annie ran over and grabbed my jacket.

"What are you looking for Betty?"

"Your phone. I wanna watch some videos with Chase."

"Here you go."

She gave me a hug and ran off to go watch some videos. Kyle sighed and got stuff out to make our favorite drink. I grabbed three cups since Annie also like the drink. I also got some snacks and went to place them on the table in the living room.  Annie was laughing at the video and Chase wavged his tail at her excitement.

"You know Kyle, I cant wait until I'm running this gang. Dad's been teaching me for a year and taking me on certain trips. I think I'm going to be a great leader."

"I bet you're going to be an amazing leader. Especially if I'm your right hand."

"Ethan is also learning the gang leader role for when I'm away at missions since the leader and his right hand go on missions together."

"Speaking of Ethan, is he going to come hang out tonight or not?"

"He should be here in a couple hours or so."

"Oh okay."

"Yeah."

Ethan Murdock, my cousin who has been by my side since birth. If you can find one of the Murdock boys you can find all of them. His little brother, Jessie, hangs out with us too. He is inly a year younger but he will also play games with Annabeth.

I can already see me as the gang's leader. Shaking hands with dad before being pulled in for a hug. Getting my own gun specially made for my role. Everything. I just can't wait for it to happen. And when it does, I'm killing Rich's killer.
