You finish your shift with a sigh of relief.

In your 6 hour shift, you had encountered three cases of a disease. It appeared to be contracted on Saron 04 where a detail of Geologists accompanied the Captain and your boyfriend, Spock to study the planet.

The disease was not deadly, but gave the infected person one heck of a headache and plugged their ears.

On your shift, the sick consisted of a Geologist named John Pearson, the Captain, and Uhura.

Bones had left a few minutes ago to use the restroom and you needed him to sign your official account of today before you could leave.

To kill time, you pick up your PADD and double check the data you entered for your account.

You are so absorbed in your work that you do not notice Chekov stumble into the Med Wing for a solid ten seconds.

"Um, (y/n), I don't feel so good." He says loudly.

Your head snaps up.

"I'm so sorry, Chekov I didn't notice you come in. Have a seat." You motion to the medical tables.

He looks confused but plops down on a table and holds his head gingerly.

"What seems to be the problem, Chekov?"

"I feel as if the Russian circus were preforming inside of my skull." He groans loudly.

You laugh and pull out a thermometer to check his temperature. It is 36.9° C which is average for a human.

"Tell me about your ears." You say, turning away from him and returning the thermometer to the cabinet.

"What!?" He asks, nearly shouting.

"Can you hear me?" You do your best to speak clearly, but end up laughing too hard for him to understand you.

"WHAT!?" He repeats.

You lean close to his ear and say, "I said 'can you hear me'?"

"I-" Chekov stops mid-sentence, his eyes fixed on something behind you.

You look up to see Spock standing in the doorway.

"Oh, hey Spock. I'll be with you in a minute," you tell him, turning back to Chekov.

"I am afraid I must speak with you immediately." Spock responds.

You see anger flash in his eyes.

"Oh… Okay. I'll be back in a minute Chekov."

You walk into one of the offices with Spock trailing behind you.

"What's up?" You ask, leaning against the wall.

"I noticed an exchange between you and Chekov that appeared to be less than professional." Spock says bitterly.

"What do you mean?" You respond straightening and folding your arms.

"As of yesterday, whispering things in one another's ears is not a nurse-to-patient relationship. Neither is giggling like an incessant school girl." His cheeks are literally green with envy.

"Chekov came down with the same disease that Pearson, Uhura and the Captain have. It plugs the ears. I had to speak next to his ear for him to hear me. Spock, you know I only have eyes for you." You say, pinching his cheek playfully.

"Perhaps my judgement was unwarranted and false. I apologise for, as humans say, 'jumping to conclusions'." Spock whispers bashfully.

You go up on your tip toes and quickly peck his lips.

"I'll be done in ten minutes and in that time, I'm sure you can think of a way to make it up to me." You say, winking and walking back to Chekov.

Spock stands, smiling slightly after you and, to make it up to you, trying to recall what exactly your favorite movie is.

You quickly finish your exam for Chekov and give him the proper medicine to cure the sickness.

You grab your PADD and enter the data from Chekov's exam.

Bones casually walks in sipping a cup of coffee.

"Did you even do anything?" He asks, raising his eyebrows at you. "You've hardly moved an inch."
