Temptations of the Dark Side

Chapter 21

WEISS'S POV

I was sitting in Professor Port's classroom, listening to him talk about one of his encounters with a Grimm from when he was younger, however it was difficult for me to concentrate on the lesson, tonight was the night my team and I begin our investigation into the thefts that the White Fang and Roman Torchwick have been committing, so I was watching the clock on my scroll as it stopped on 3:59, with my chin resting in my hand.

However my thoughts had also been drifting to (Y/N) and his offer, (Y/N) had for some reason suddenly started to show affection towards me, but I was a little worried about accepting since he's also been flirting with both Yang and Pyrrha, as well as that mysterious apprentice he's been training, he recently told me that he had sent her off alone into the wilderness for training, I don't really see what they could learn out there other than slaying Grimm, perhaps some kind of survival exercise?

But it wasn't just that he was suddenly touching me, and teasing me, or the fact that every time he did this he'd make my heart race, and my face turn red, and I don't know if he's doing this because he's got a genuine interest in me that way, or if he's just messing with me again like he usually does with people, and even if he was interested, how would I know he isn't just trying to get to the family fortune?

Then again he is from another world, our money's probably useless to him.

But it was also what he said to me back in the dorm the day before, about accepting the Dark Side of the Force and learning from him, the things he said about me becoming strong enough to bring honor back to the Schnee name, to perhaps become strong enough to run the company once my time comes, that is if my father hadn't dragged our name too deep into the dirt to restore it...

(You know, if you were to train with me, accept the ways of the Sith, and the Dark Side of the Force... you would have all those things...) (Y/N)'s voice spoke within my head, I thought back to his words, feeling my cheeks grow warmer as I remembered feeling his arms around me, trapping me yet also making me feel safe.

(The skill to beat any in battle...) his voice repeated, I imagined myself defeating the White Fang, all of those criminals in chains and paying for their crimes against me and my family.

(The knowledge to outwit all who would see your efforts undone...) (Y/N)'s voice came again, this time the image of my father's schemes and plots coming undone, and me bringing my families company back from the shady place it's sitting in.

(And the power to raise your name up from the mud...) after hearing his voice once again, I saw my father removed from the head of the company, and myself sitting in his place, with Winter and mother there, while Whitley has to watch.

(All you could desire would be within reach, all you have to do is accept the true nature of the universe, and embrace the Dark Side of the Force) all of a sudden my mind was filled with images of me, wearing the robes of a Sith, a lightsaber in my hands as I cut down the Grimm and the White Fang, with (Y/N) by my side as we took over Atlas and ruled all of Remnant with an IRON FIST!

"So Weiss, you know uh, I was thinking that after this, maybe we could go grab a bite to eat?" came a familiar, and very annoying voice from my right, I didn't even bother to look over to see who it was, it was Jaune, he had been asking me out over and over again and no matter how many times I say no, he keeps asking me.

"And uh, you know well I-I've got two tickets to that new Spruce Willis movie if you want to make the trip to Vale, I hear it's awesome" he continued, my thoughts drifted back to (Y/N), it's true that this power and skill he could teach me could be very helpful for future battles as well as other things, and I wouldn't complain about spending more time with him...

"And... then maybe after we could, study together? I mean your smart and I'm a, you know..." he continued, good grief he sounds so pitiful right now, no confidence at all, but I didn't have to deal with it for too long since the clock struck 4:00pm, signalling the end of class.

"Weiss? Did you hear me?" Jaune asked me, I didn't bother getting angry at him anymore, I'd rather just finish this fast so me, my team and (Y/N) could begin our investigation.

"No, no, no, yes" I replied as I stood up and left the classroom quickly, followed by my teammates, as I walked the halls I kept my eyes out for (Y/N), he said that he was going to investigate with us so I guess he'll either meet us at our dorm or on the way there.

"Hey Weiss, don't you think you were a little mean to Jaune?" Ruby asked me as she walked up next to me.

"Yeah, I mean the least you could do is give him a chance" Yang said as she walked to my left.

"Hmph! I don't think so, he's just not my type" I said sternly.

"Well then, what is your type?" Blake asked, suddenly my head was filled with images of (Y/N), him holding me, touching me, kissing me...

I felt my face burn hot and I quickly shook my head, trying to get the images out of my imagination.

"I-I don't have any type! Besides, we're here to learn how to be huntresses, not to look for romance, I have no time for such frivolous activities!" I said, however I couldn't help but exclude (Y/N) from that.

"You can't help when you fall in love Weiss, you might not want to fall in love, and focus on your studies and becoming a Huntress, but if it hits you, then it'll hit you" Yang said as she walked on ahead of me, I walked a little slower as I thought about what she said and how I've been feeling towards (Y/N).

(Damn it! She's right, but I can't afford to be sidetracked, I've got to restore the Schnee name, and I can't let myself be dragged in when he's already got Yang and Pyrrha on his arms! And those Jedi hanging around, I just need to try and move my feelings to someone else, yeah that's all I've got to do! But who?) I thought to myself as I continued to walk through the halls.

After a while my team and I had reached our dorm room, however I noticed that (Y/N) wasn't here either, we entered our room and started to get changed into our investigation outfits, I was sitting on my bed below Ruby, trying to think of who I could try to move my feelings onto.

"I though that class would never end" Blake said as she finished tying black ribbons around her arms, to complete her outfit.

"Alright guys, today's the day, the investigation, begins!" Ruby said as she jumped down from her bed, almost landing on me, but luckily I managed to pull myself back as her feet hit the floor, with both arms raised above her head.

"I'm glad to see that we are taking this so seriously" I said, not really convinced that this is a good idea now.

"Hey! We've got a plan, that's... moderately serious" Yang said in a carefree voice, I saw her shift her eyes towards the door every now-and-again, probably waiting for (Y/N) to knock on the door.

"Right, everyone remember their roles?" Ruby asked.

"You and I will head to the CCT and check the Schnee records for any other Dust robberies, or inconsistencies, seeing as I'm in the family, it shouldn't be a problem" I answered, it was true, I'll be able to get this information easily, I just hope I don't have to talk to my father to get what I need.

"The White Fang has regular faction meetings to hand out orders and recruit new members, if I can get in, I can hopefully find out what they're planning" Blake said.

"I have a friend on the shady side of town that typically knows everything going on in Vale, getting information out of him shouldn't be too hard for (Y/N) and me" Yang said, I saw Blake's eyes narrow at the mention of him.
"Great, we'll meet up tonight near Yang to go over what we've found" Ruby said.

"Um, we're not ready yet guys" I said as I noticed that (Y/N) wasn't here still.

"Weiss, do we have to go over this again? I'm sure we can handle it, I mean we're-" Ruby began, but I got frustrated at how oblivious she was being not to notice that one of the people helping us isn't here!

"I don't mean like that! I mean that (Y/N) isn't here yet you dunce!" I snapped, as I pointed around the room, making everyone notice that he was indeed not here yet.

"Oh! Right, ehhehehe... I wonder where he is?" Ruby asked herself, I saw that Yang was also wondering where he was, but Blake just didn't seem to care, well then again that isn't really new...

"STATEMENT; I believe I can answer that question for you, little red meat-bag" came a robotic voice from our doorway, we all looked over and saw the familiar tall, rust coloured droid that accompanied (Y/N) most of the time, as I looked at him I noticed that he was carrying a blaster rifle in his hand.

"HK47? What are you doing here? And where's (Y/N)?" Yang asked, sounding a little worried.

"ANSWER; My Master, unfortunately has been delayed with assisting with your investigation, it would seem the the Jedi that arrived yesterday have been watching him rather closely, and he did not want to risk your investigation being compromised because of their interference" HK47 said as his head quickly moved side to side, his eyes glowing red as he observed us.

"WHAT?! Are you kidding me, those guys are still bugging him!" Yang exploded angrily.

"I guess he and his Dark Side aren't all powerful after all..." Blake muttered to herself, however it seemed that HK had heard her and walked towards her so he was towering over her, looking at her with his glowing red eyes.

"THREAT; I would watch what you say, female feline meat person, I happen to know a rather painful way to remove those ears your so ashamed of beneath that bow..." HK47 said in a tone of voice that was so cold I actually felt a chill run down my spine, I saw fear flash across Blake's eyes as she stepped back covering her bow with her hands, and I saw Ruby and Yang looking at him shocked at his threat.

"Wow... that got scary fast..." Ruby muttered in a scared voice.

"Please calm down HK, I'm sure she didn't mean any offence, right Blake?" Yang said as she stepped between the two, trying to stop any fights from happening.

"Y-Yeah... I didn't mean anything by it..." she said as she backed away slowly, moving her hand close to her gambol Shroud.

"Now then, would you mind explaining what happened exactly?" I asked as I stood up, looking HK in the eyes the best I could, why did he have to be so darn tall?

"EXPLANATION; My Master has noticed people wearing the robes of the Jedi following his movements around the campus, he believes that they may be planning another attack once he leaves the school grounds, possibly in larger numbers so as to capture or terminate him" HK47 said as he faced all four of us together.

"So your saying he doesn't want to risk going out and being in danger? I thought the Sith were supposed to be fearless?" I asked cautiously, hoping not to offend him a second time.

"CLARIFICATION; My Master has no problem engaging Jedi in battle and defeating them, it is the fact that he does not wish to have to protect a group of inexperienced meat-bags as he fights, you four are unskilled in battling Force Users, if the battle you had with the Sith Zack has any indication" HK47 said, Yang got mad at this comment.

"Hey! I managed to hit that Jedi yesterday, I'm sure we could beat them easily!" Yang said confidently, although, I was a little skeptical.

"IRRITATED STATEMENT; Yes, you managed to land a blow upon a Jedi, while his back was turned, and he was focused upon the Master, however if you tried to attack them head on, you would be slaughtered, after all, meat-bags are not immune to the blade of a lightsaber, nor the manipulations of the Force" HK47 said in an irritated way.

"He's got a point Yang, if anyone can deal with those Jedi, it'll be him and HK here" I said, trying to reassure her, and trying to make myself feel better about this situation.

"PROUD ANSWER; Indeed, I am skilled in the arts of killing Jedi, a subroutine that was made by Darth Revan himself, when I served as his personal Assassin Droid, so you can rest assured, the Master and I can handle a few Jedi" HK47 said with confidence.

"Aw man, so we're down a man..." Ruby said sadly, I saw that Yang looked disappointed at this, and that Blake seemed somewhat relieved, but I also felt sad that he wouldn't be joining us.

"CASUAL REMINDER; I do believe I said he would be 'delayed' not unable to assist you at all, little red meat-bag, he will join your investigation at a later time, possibly at night when he can escape under the cover of darkness" HK47 said.

"Well that's a relief, the last thing we need are Jedi getting involved with this plan, so tell him to do whatever he needs to make sure they leave him alone" I said, I wouldn't admit it out loud but I was glad he'd be joining us later, I kind of hope he'll join me and Ruby.

"If he can come be sure to send him my way~" Yang said in a flirty voice, HK didn't seem to have any reaction to her though.

"CASUAL FAREWELL; Well, now that I have appraised you meat-bags of the situation, I shall return to my Master's side, and assist him with removing those troublesome Jedi, as well as a few other pests, farewell" HK47 said as he turned and walked towards the door, leaving our dorm room.

"Why does he have to call us meat-bags all the time!?" I asked out loud, it was honestly starting to get really offensive for him to call me that, I even preferred being called Ice Queen over that.

"EXPLANATION; It's just that... you have all these squishy parts, and all that water! How the constant sloshing doesn't drive you mad, I have no idea" came HK47's voice from the hallway, we looked up to see him standing in the doorway before he turned and walked away down the hall, as the sound of his footsteps walking away went quieter, until we didn't hear him anymore.

"Well... I guess it'll be just team RWBY for now, let's do this!" Ruby said, her enthusiasm coming back.

"Yeah!" came another voice from the window to our dorm, we all looked over and saw that blonde, monkey faunas hanging upside down outside our window!

"Sun!" Blake exclaimed as all four of us took a big step back from the window, shocked at his seemingly sudden appearance.

"How did you get up there?" Yang asked.

"Ah it's easy I do it all the time" Sun said casually.

"You do what?!" I asked accusingly, this guy better not be a peeping tom or something!

"I climb trees all the time!" he replied, I narrowed my eyes at him, I'll have to remember to shut the window, and the curtains from now on...

"So... are we finally getting back at the Torchwick guy?" he asked as he jumped into our room, I swear this guy is really annoying.

"We, are going to investigate the situation, as a team" Blake said taking a step forwards and making emphasis on the word team, seems like he won't be with us tonight.

"Sorry Sun, we don't want to get friends involved if we don't have to" Ruby said, I smirked at what Ruby said, since we were going to have (Y/N) helping us it would have been a bad argument, it's such a shame he's not here with us...

"Pfft, that's dumb, you should always get friends involved, that's why I brought Neptune" he said as he pointed outside of our window with his thumb, we all rushed over to the window only to find Neptune standing on the ledge beneath the windows with his back pressed against the wall.

"'Sup?" Neptune asked casually, as if he wasn't on a very high and narrow ledge.

"How did you even get up here?" Ruby asked.

"I have my ways" he answered trying to sound cool.

"Seriously though, can I come in, we're like, really high up right now" he said as he pressed himself against the wall, looking down in fear, Yang reached out and pulled him into our room and Ruby decided to include the two, maybe this could be a chance to forget about (Y/N)?

"All right, I'll go with Weiss, Sun, you can go with Blake and Neptune, you can go with Yang since she doesn't have a partner" Ruby said as she pushed Neptune towards a very unimpressed Yang, this isn't good, I was hoping to be partnered with Neptune so I could forget about (Y/N)!

"Everyone good?" Ruby asked.

"I'd rather be going with (Y/N), but I guess he'll do..." Yang said with a small frown on her face, maybe this is my chance to change partners?

"Actually Ruby, why don't you go with Yang, after all she is your sister" I suggested, I could see Yang look at me weirdly but she also seemed a little hopeful that she'd be switched.

"But Weiss, who would go with you then?" Ruby asked me.

"Well, I guess Neptune could come with me" I said, trying to sound convincing, I had to make this plan work otherwise I'll end up caught in the thing between (Y/N), Yang and Pyrrha.

"pfft, nah!" Ruby said dismissively, she then grabbed my coat and started to pull me out of the door.

"But! But!" I tried to argue, only to be pulled out of the room and down the hallway to the Courtyard, as we passed (Y/N)'s room my thoughts drifted back to him again, to the promises he made and the feeling I felt for him, I really need to do something before it's too late!
