"Natalia...I found the courage to tell you the one thing I had on my mind for so long," said Gantetsu, looking up at the moon.

"Oh, the thing before Sakura came along? Well, go on then," I said, trying to sound like I didn't care. Did he want date ideas for Sakura? Did he love me instead?

"This will be the last time we train each other,"

"Haha. Now what is it?"

He simply stared at me, his look completely serious. "I just told you. I will be leaving a week from now."

"Leave? Do you mean..."

"Yes. I will be going away to find the traitor and kill him. I will have to accept the title of the new Order Master if I succeed,"

I felt like my world was being torn apart. A part of me wanted him to come back successfully, the other wanted him to die in the effort. "What makes you think you're going to fight him? Do you think you're worthy?"

He sighed. "Natalia...I have been trained by the leaders of the Kage Sect themselves. You have not. You are very good at fighting, I admit it. But you will be no match for the traitor. I have to do this."

I felt the anger rise up. "But the competition is first. The best Kage warrior against the best Sangria warrior. That is first. The winner of that competition goes to fight the traitor.

"Natalia...the traitor's whereabouts have been found for the first time in years. This is the only opportunity we have to find him. The leaders of both Sects agreed that the time to leave is now."

"Will you be going alone, then? Allow me to accompany you. Please."

"The leaders have allowed the mage Sakura to accompany me on the journey."

"Sakura? She can't even beat me! Why does she get the honor of going?"

"The leaders agree that we balance each other out. I have a certain type of magic, but Sakura is the best mage the Sects have found. Besides, she comes from a noble family. She was born to accompany me to kill the traitor. She is lovely and brave."

I couldn't believe he had the decency to mention Sakura's beauty, brains, whatever in this. "There is no way you can do this."

"I am sorry. I would love to tell you a lie, but this is the truth. I have to go." He almost whispered that last part. He rose and walked toward his house.

"You think you can bring him down? You can't stop me from going. I'll free the traitor's head from his neck before you even have the chance!"
