The Many Things Mrs.Oberoi Can Ride
--
"Shivaay, babyy, let's go na," Pouting, Annika whined to her husband who was reclining on the bed with a laptop on his lap. His gaze remained undeterred from the screen. Groaning in frustration, Annika grabbed a pillow and smacked his face with it.
"Oww, fhat the wuck?!" Shivaay exclaimed, rubbing the eye she had managed to hit. Annika only glared at him.
"What is it, Annika?" Shivaay asked, annoyed. He kept his laptop away on the bed and rose to stand beside her fuming self,
"What is it? What is it?!" Shivaay gulped. This wasn't gonna be good. "Have you even been listening to me, Shivaay?" Annika asked him, hands on hips and eyes spitting fire. Yeah, this wasn't gonna be good.
"Yeah, of course. You, uh, wanted to go somewhere." Shivaay replied, desperately straining his mind to recall what she had been saying, when he had been busy writing an important email. Something about going somewhere, surely...
But the look on Annika's face told him he was wrong, and Shivaay shrunk within himself. The volcano would erupt any moment now, and it was NOT gonna be good.
"Going somewhere, huh?" Annika asked with a fake, sweet smile. "Go where, pray tell?" She continued. Shivaay swallowed hard, and tried to use a different tactic.
"Baby," He said, looping his arms around her waist. "Leave it, na. Let's not go anywhere," he emphasized on the word, "and spend our Sunday doing better things," he said, moving to nuzzle her neck. Before he could do so, however, Annika had pushed him away, making him stumble.
"You, Mr. Shivaay Singh Oberoi, are a complete asshole! A jerk! Who is married to his work and only thinks about his wife when it comes to having sex!" Annika shouted, and Shivaay raised his eyebrows.
"What's with the sudden outburst?" he asked, annoyed again. "And what nonsense are you speaking? You know it's not true, right? Just last weekend we went to that resort and-"
"And spent the entire two days in bed," Annika finished, making Shivaay grin sheepishly.
"You weren't complaining back then," he replied with a wink, making Annika blush despite her anger.
"Whatever," She said crisply. "The point now is, I have been talking to you for the past ten minutes, and you haven't even been listening!"
"I was doing some important work, love," Shivaay said. "And you're one to complain- when I talk to you when you're busy with your work, you start giving me long lectures about how one can't even do their job in peace, and what not!"
Again, Annika fumbled for a reply, before giving up and shrugging her shoulders.
"Anyway," Shivaay said softly, pulling her close once again. "Where did you want to go?"
Annika stared at him with narrowed eyes for a minute, wondering if she should just give him the upper hand today and let go, before finally deciding to relent.
"Nowhere in particular. Just for a ride," She said finally. Shivaay tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
"That's it? Okay, wait a second. I'll grab the car keys." He said, moving away towards their end table, but Annika stopped him.
"Not in your car, Shivaay. On your bike," She said, excitedly. "It's been lying in your garage for so many months now, we should definitely use it sometimes!"
Shivaay stared at her with wide eyes. Where had she suddenly gotten a bike-ride idea from? He never intended to touch that darned bike again; it reminded him of those dreadful 3 months of separation from her, and he gagged every time he was reminded of that- that punk avatar he had taken up during that time. Wearing those gangster jackets, riding a bike recklessly... ew.
"B-bike ride? Have you gone crazy, Annika? Where did you suddenly get this idea from?" He asked her, trying hard to keep his voice level and not shout. A fight was already ensuing, and he better not add to it. Annika went back to glaring at him.
"What does it matter where I got the idea from? Can't I even think of going on a bike ride with my husband?" She asked, pouting again.
"Not when your husband is a well-reputed businessman who would be ridiculed if caught on a bike," he muttered under his breath.
"Listen, baby. It's not safe to ride on a bike these days." He said decidedly, and not untruthfully. He wasn't willing to take any sort of risk when it came to his wife. Annika raised an eyebrow cockily at that.
"Really? And what about that time you used to ride it all day in those 3 months, huh? Don't think Rudra didn't tell me everything!" Shivaay made a mental note to reprimand his over-talkative brother later.
"That was different. I was, you could say, going through a phase at that time. One, I've heard, men usually experience in their teenage years. But let's not talk about that." He said, repressing a shudder. "How about," he said slowly, "you ride something else today?" The question was followed by a naughty wink, but Annika looked at him cluelessly.
"I told you, I don't wanna go on your darned car! So, what else is there to ride?" She asked, mouth twisted in confusion.
Shivaay came closer to her once again, and leaning in, whispered into her ears.
"Me."
It took Annika a few moments to register what he meant, and when she did, her eyes widened in horror and she let out a huge gasp.
"Chii, Shivaay! You and your one-track mind!" She exclaimed, smacking his chest and shoving him aside, before scurrying out of the room in embarrassment, leaving behind her husband guffawing heartily.
