Hey, who's that guy you uploaded a picture with on Insta?
Annika looked up from her book as her phone pinged and opened it to find this message from her crush, Shivaay. He was a senior in her college and they had gotten around to talking recently while working on organizing an event. This message from him was nothing less than a surprise to her and it had her heart beating faster than normal.
My childhood bestie. Why?
Although it did seem like a very long shot, Annika wondered if he too liked her back to be asking her about a random guy she posted a picture with.
Nah, just asking.
A few seconds later, another message-
By the way, I've been meaning to ask you
something for a while now.
Yeah?
Do you have a boyfriend?
Sitting up straighter, Annika tried to ignore the fuzzy feeling in her stomach and texted back.
Nope. Do you?
I mean, have a girlfriend?
She didn't know where this was coming from. Of course she knew he didn't have a girlfriend- he was her crush and she had stalked him to her heart's content.
Nope.
That was it? Annika frowned before typing.
Okay, cool.
Yeah, cool.
Sighing when he didn't say anything else, Annika got back to studying. Honestly, Shivaay Singh Oberoi ever liking her back was a very long shot.

In another part of the city, Shivaay mentally cursed himself for the umpteenth.
Just go ahead and ask her on a date, idiot!
But as much as he wanted to, Shivaay Singh Oberoi was extremely scared to ask out his crush. After all, Annika Trivedi liking him back was such a long shot, right?
