The girl and the boy have been sitting beside each other for thirty minutes now with Brad's chicken sandwich long gone. They sit there in silence watching all the trains go by and all the passengers who come and go.

Y/N's phone just ran out of battery and as for Brad... he doesn't have a phone, so he has nothing to worry about except the things he brought with him.

The boy decides to break the ice by asking the girl an innocent question, because it's his first time in a train station. Brad knows where the train station is. However, he's never been to one until now, of course.

"Are there always a lot of people riding the train?" Brad asks the girl next to him. She looks at Brad as if he grew another head. "Yeah, all the time. Jesus, is this your first time or something?" Y/N looks away and shakes her head, still pissed at the fact that her mum actually kicked her out for something minor.

"I'm sorry." Brad frowns, "To answer your question, yes; it's my first time here. I've only seen train stations on pictures. Why do trains here look different?" he asks Y/N.

"What do trains look like in the pictures you've seen?" she asks the boy. She has zero to say to him, but what can she do? He's a curious lad.

"In the pictures I've seen, trains have coal and the driver is standing and he's usually covered in dirt. It also has smoke coming out of the thing on top. Trains here don't look like that." Brad says like a child.

"You, my friend, are stuck in the 1900s or something. Trains are modern now which means they've changed; evolved. They need to make trains new." Y/N shrugs.

"But why?" Brad pesters.

"I don't know. Ask my best mate's dad, Tony. He's into trains." Y/N suggests in hopes that he'll stop asking.

"Can we go to him now?"

"Oh, for fucks sake! We obviously can't, because they're probably busy being a family and my best mate's parents probably don't want to see me" Y/N snaps, "...because we got him in trouble and he's so sweet and innocent and he didn't deserve being suspended but it's too late now! He didn't even drink but he lied to the principal and said that it was his idea and that he's the one who started drinking. He did that just to save Blake's ass because Blake's got so many strikes and it's his last chance to stay at school so George decided to be a great friend and say that it's his fault so that Blake gets to stay. So, no. We can't go and see George's dad to ask stupid train questions." Y/N finishes her rant, crying.

"I don't know those people, but George must be a really great friend for him to cover for Blake like that." Brad says, analyzing the situation.

"He's a saint. He probably has a spot in heaven." Y/N chuckles lightly.

"I'm Brad, by the way. You are?"

"Y/N." they smile at each and shake hands.

"Why are you here?" Brad asks.

Y/N shrugs and says, "My parents kicked me out. You?"

"I ran away." Brad answers.

Y/N looks at him funny. "You ran away, but you only have one duffel bag?"

"I only have a few clothes anyway. You look like you brought your whole house including the people you live with." Brad laughs causing Y/N to laugh too.

The two spent hours on end getting to know each other. She learned about his unfortunate life and he learned about what really happened before George took the blame for the drinking issue.

"So, where are you off to now?" Brad asks.

"I honestly don't know.I'm pretty sure my friends' parents don't want to see me or the others. So, I don't actually know. What about you? Where will you go? I mean, you've got money. You can book a hotel or something and think about what you're going to do." Y/N shrugs.

"I want to go around. Do you know any places?" Brad asks.

"Tourist spots are nearly closed and by the time we get to one of them, they're closed. I'm really hungry, though. Let's eat somewhere and then figure it out." Y/N stands up and grabs her things. Brad grabs the other suitcase so she doesn't look awkward with two suitcases.

"Oh, it's okay. You don't have to do that. I can manage." she says.

"It's fine. I insist. Besides, we both look ridiculous. You look ridiculous with two suitcases and a backpack and I look ridiculous by not knowing things around Birmingham yet I was born and raised here...at least make me look like a tourist." Brad chuckles and heads for the door with Y/N trailing behind him.

"When was the last time you ate? You're really hungry!" Brad laughs at Y/n who's currently eating a Big Mac with large fries and a large drink.

"I only ate an apple at school today and that's like eight hours ago." Y/N shrugs and starts eating.

"Wow. Why only an apple?" Brad asks before taking a bite of his chicken sandwich (no surprise there).

"I want to keep this weight and I have a thing with Blake and I don't want him to lose interest even though, what we have is platonic yet out of the ordinary." she answers.

"What do you mean? I don't understand it." if you look at Brad, it's not very hard to see his confused expression.

"Well, we do couple stuff but we're not a couple."

"Oh that's okay as long as he's single."

"He better be. He's my first everything. Although, we're not in love. We're just in it for the physical stuff." Y/N says and continues to eat.

She and Blake have the strongest bond. They've known each other since they were six. All of the people at church thought they were a couple, including George and Reece, but they're not. Sometimes Y/N can't help but wonder what it'd be like if they actually were. Blake thinks the same thing, because he's liked her for years, but he figured that she didn't like him.

Blake and Y/n are the best example of two people who are meant to meet, but never meant for each other no matter how much compatible they are.

Such a tragic love story, but that's tragically part of life.

A/N: I sorta liked this one tbh even though it wasn't my original plan and title

I guess it turned out well.
