------------------------------------------------------------
It was a peaceful evening in the Survey Corps headquarters when everyone in the barracks decided to sleep earlier than before. You silently sneak out of the barracks, a sign that you speculated as the perfect time to do an evening walk outside.
You pray to every god that you don't bump into any superiors, especially Captain Levi because he's the worst when it comes to giving punishments, you tremendously hope that he will not catch you in the act of wandering through the woods, especially around past curfew because If you did, then it would be a dead end for you.
When you notice that you're far enough from the headquarters, you light up the candle of the lantern that you're holding to serve as a guide through your little escapade. It's dark as hell, and there are bugs everywhere. You don't want to stumble or fall along the way.
As you were walking through the middle of the woods. You felt another presence behind you, barely there, nonetheless, kind of suspicious to your senses. You didn't notice that the presence behind you straight away held your mouth before you were able to turn around.
You nearly shouted, but instead, nearly dropped the lantern that you were holding, you were so sure that it would fall to the ground, but the other hand of this anonymous caught it. because if no one did, it would make a noise and worse, cause fire through the grass, and that means trouble. But at least, you're not alone in being in trouble.
Your body tensed up, thinking of other ways to get away from the grasp of this mysterious person. But to your surprise, you recognize to whom the hand belongs, the same hand that was clutching your face right now that prevents you from making a sound.
"Reiner..." you sighed, relief took over you that the unknown guy was someone you knew. When he noticed your body began to relax from his grasp, he immediately removed his hand from you.
As you stared at his chiseled features, you saw his hazel orbs were already looking at your own.
"Oh my god Reiner, I'm so worried about you! I thought I'd never see you again!" You cursed under your breath, almost shouting but you shush yourself in a low voice because you can't afford to be in trouble. You hugged his large physique, just as you used to do when you years ago during training together. You missed him, a lot.
"I sneak up here, just to see you," Reiner said. He chuckled at your shocked expression, seeing you again after days apart made him feel a tingling sensation in his stomach, something intangible that words cannot even describe. He toucher your hair affectionately, pulling your waist towards him. "God knows how much I missed you, YN." He whispered against your ear, nuzzling his nose against your hair, inhaling the scented vanilla shampoo that you used a while ago in your hair. Reiner leaned his forehead towards yours tenderly, clinging to you as if it would be the last. You didn't expect him to be like this affectionately, since you haven't seen him for days.
You remembered what he did days ago, that gruesome day that shook all your nerves through your core.
You pushed him away, but still, his grasp on your shoulders was stern, not letting you go.
"W-why did you do that?! Why did you leave me just like that?! Do you even know how worried I am?! You didn't even give me any explanation. Reiner, you've betrayed us! You... all along you were the armored titan—" You pound your balled fists against his chest, throwing punches at his face several times, but to no avail, he stands there, as if your words don't matter to him, as if he didn't even care. He didn't do anything, just holding you.
