-MICHAEL'S POV-

It was obvious they hated me now. So I did the only thing I could do.

I left.

-ABIGAIL'S POV-

I held onto Harry as he drove us home on his motorcycle. Adrenaline was still pumping through my body but it felt good. I felt great for defending myself.

I felt almost invincible with my newfound courage. I didn't know I had it in me.

"I'm sorry," Harry shouted over the sound of wind blowing past us.

"For what?"

"For taking you to Ashton's house in the first place. It's all my fault. What was I thinking?" He sounded defeated.

"You couldn't have known that Michael was there. It's not your fault. Don't beat yourself up like that."

Harry was so easy to open up to. In the span of just two days, he had managed to gain my trust.

He turned into an unfamiliar street.

"Why are we taking the long way home?" I wondered, taking in the foreign buildings and landmarks.

"Cuz I don't wanna be wasting my time alone."

I smiled at his response. He actually likes my company? Now I realized that I know next to nothing about Harry. I wanted to get to know him better.

"Don't you have parents or any siblings to come home to? How could you be lonely?" I asked, tucking a loose strand of hair behind my ear.

"I have no siblings. And as for my parents, they are always busy with work. They're both lawyers and are never home." He sighed, his green eyes flicking from mine back to the road. "But I'm used to it. It's not a big deal, I guess."

"We both have some serious parent issues." I rolled my eyes and frowned. I averted my attention to the sky.

Light yellows and pinks painted the heavens and the warm sun was setting in the horizon. The light breeze fanned my face. The atmosphere was calming and I enjoyed moments like these.

Being with Harry made me forget about all my problems.

My eyes wandered to the boy who made me feel like this. I took this time to soak in all of his wonderful details. His full pink lips. His dark eyebrows and how they were always furrowed together. His little crease he got on his forehead when he was in deep thought. His soft, curly locks that he always swept to the side. His alluring green eyes and how they concentrated on the road ahead.

Could I be falling for this seemingly perfect stranger?

It was around 6pm by the time we arrived at my place. Towering oak trees cast long shadows over the front lawn. I slid off the leather seat and noticed Edwin's beat-up car parked in front. I was supposed to be home right after school. But right now, I couldn't care less.

"Are you sure it's safe to go inside?" Harry searched the foggy windows.

"Yeah, I'll just sneak up my room. He's probably passed out on the couch anyways." I waved him off, dismissively. To be honest, I wasn't sure what was going to happen. Edwin usually punished me when I came home late. I only said that to comfort Harry.
