It was December 23.
Me and Sonya were finishing up our last trip of Christmas shopping at the mall. I felt that this year was going to be a blast because me and Jahseh were spending our first Christmas together. As you know, last year we had the worst argument ever which caused us to split up and spend the holidays separately.
And because I had my own little family now, I wasn't going home for Christmas this year. I spoke with my mom and she said that she was happy that Jahseh and I were finally going to spend the holidays together and that we didn't have any ups and down this year. Leslie was gone out of town for Christmas and was staying with her first cousins. Kolbey on the other hand did not have his mother here to spend Christmas with so I immediately paid for him a ticket here to spend it with us. Though he said he was fine, I wasn't gonna take no for an answer.
Meanwhile, me and Sonya were in Rue 21 trying to find clothing for Cleo. Just because she was a little older didn't mean she couldn't rock younger clothes. If anything, she looked younger for her age and I told her that all the time.
"You think she'd like this?" I asked Sonya who was too busy textin Trent to even notice the yellow and black joggers and the hoodie to match that were in my hand. "Sonya? Hello."
She finally looked up and noticed the outfit, "Yellow? Don't they have another color other than yellow?" She asked finally sticking her phone in her back pocket.
"What? You don't think Ms. Cleo would look good in yellow?"
"Not saying that it's just that yellow is played out. She's a brown skin like me so she'd look better in orange or something." She shrugged her shoulders.
"Cleo would look good in anything. But I think I'll try something else." I put the outfit back and began looking for something else that I felt like she'd like.
I continued to search for more clothing when I felt a tap on my shoulder. Thinking it was Sonya, I turned around unaware of Sedric standing there looking handsome with a smile on his face. Gosh! I had to stop complimenting him in my head.
"Stranger. What's up?" He asked standing a little too close which caused me to back up a few feet away from him.
He looked me dead into my eyes and I quickly looked away. Not because he was affecting me but because I hated eye contact. I even have a hard time making eye contact with Jahseh for a long period of time.
"Nothing much. Just here Christmas shopping". I said looking down as I played with the price tag on a shirt that I had picked up.
"Christmas shopping huh? For your boyfriend?"
I shook my head no, "His mother."
"Cool. So may I asked why you didn't text me back?"
This fool must have lost his rabbit ass mind. To even ask me that just pissed me off. "Seriously Sedric?"
"Damn, you even remember my name. It sounds cute when you say it." He teased and my blood started boiling.
"Okay, cut the crap. Why did you text me when you know I'm seeing someone?"
"No, you cut the crap", he said in a rather calm tone, "I know you like me. You always calling me cute or hinting that I'm very handsome. As much as you're in a relationship, I know you're feeling something for me deep down inside."
I did find Sedric very cute let alone handsome but feeling some type of way about him, he had it all wrong. Jahseh was the only guy that I had eyes for no matter how many cute guys tried to holler at me.
"Wrong. I do find you cute but I feel nothing for you and for you to just text me out the blue really upset me. I don't think you need to do that again because I haven't told my boyfriend and I hate keeping things from him." I barked hoping he'd get the memo.
