Calum & Keegan

pt. 4: attention

  Calum and I had snuggled into the bottom of the twin sized bunk beds and drew the curtains closed last night. I had accidentally fell asleep talking to him instead of returning to my bed, but I didn't mind his body wrapped around mine all night. My eyes open to meet the sleepy, pretty boy squished next to me whose breathing is deep and flows through his slightly parted mouth. One hand still rests on my hip as the other is supporting our heads. I slowly tug my arm from under his side, hoping he'll remain asleep. I successfully untangle myself and face toward the white, thick curtain to peek my head out. The tour bus is relatively quiet except for the noise of the tires on the pavement and the soft wind whistling by. I hear soft snores coming from Luke's bunk a few over and figure that the rest of the boys fell asleep in their beds also. The lights are on the lowest setting with all the windows drawn close, leaving little to see. As I begin to move, Calum's hand reaches out and pulls me closer. My back facing him, he replaces his other arm under my head. 

  "Stay," he requests into my ear with a husky morning voice, his breath blowing strands of hair from my neck. 

  "Cal, the boys will see me if I stay too late," I respond as I give into his touch, resting against his chest, and his top arm comes to wrap around my stomach.

  "We should have a talk about that later," he suggests and I nod against his bicep in agreement. "We should also have a talk about what we are," he mumbles into my neck as he leans further into me. 

  "What do you mean?" I inquire and angle my face towards his that sits on my shoulder. 

  "I want to make this something special, Keegan, but for now I just want to sleep. Everything has to be perfect," Calum explains before he drifts back into a slumber.

  I haven't thought about labeling our relationship, it slipped pass due to Ashton not being inclined of  me dating inside of the band. If Calum really wants this, he would make a peace offering with Ash or maybe he already had and that's what he wanted to talk about. Either way, I think Luke and Ashton would not be pleased. Michael would love it though; he'd be appreciative that he didn't have to listen to me go on about how precious Calum is during our daily gaming sessions. One step at a time, I remind myself and take a moment to relax and enjoy my boy's loving touch before fading to sleep also. 

  A few hours later, I hear footsteps in the narrow walkway between the beds and my hand instantly reaches out for Calum yet comes up empty. I shift to the sheets that still hold his warmth and shift back to poke my head out of the curtain. A shirtless Calum greets me with a mischievous grin written on his face. He reaches for my torso, sitting me up and placing me into his arms. 

  "Wrap your legs around me, baby girl," he whispers into my ear, goosebumps appear on my arms with his words and I obey. His large hands squeeze my bare thighs as he lifts me in one fluid motion to carry me towards the back end of the bus. I rest my head on his shoulder, hiding my face as he walks pass the boys' beds. He frees a hand to move the end of the walkway's curtain and enters the back living area. On the booth table lays two plates of eggs, pancakes, and bacon along with my pink glass mug. Calum lowers me to my feet and places a kiss on my forehead. 

  "You rarely cook, what's the occasion?" I giggle softly, still whispering as I sit across from him and smile. 

  "Just wanted to treat my girl to a good morning breakfast." He returns the smile and raises his fork, picking at his scrambled eggs as he watches me lift my drink in question. "Chocolate milk," he answers my expression. 

  "Good choice and thank you, I love when you cook," I respond before taking a sip of the mixed drink in delight. I cross my legs under the table and take small bites of the eggs sprinkled with cheese.
