chapter 7 - hospitalized

the sound of the ambulance's siren was heard all through out the school grounds.
hundreds of students went to the entrance of the school to see the matter.

people in green clothing run up to the stadium holding a patients bed.
the students loud whispers were heard by many, and made rumors all over school.

the audience of the play were in deep confusion and asked the matter.
the members of the drama club tried to keep the audience calm, and told them there was a slight problem as an excuse to the crowd.

soon after, the entrance to the stadium suddenly opens and the medic's suddenly run up backstage.
the medic's find people surronding shiros body, she was unconcious and breathed heavily.

kokoro was crying and kept calling her name as she tried to wake her up.
the nurses ran up to shiro and put her to the bedding.
the doctor checked her pulse, her breathing was severe.

"shes having trouble breathing, though you'd think shes just anemic or having a asthma attack.. but this is more severe than that.."
the doctor said.
"s severe?? w what do you mean by severe!? is she gonna be okay??"
kokoro said as she cried.
"we dont have the right equipment at the moment.. we'll have to go to the hospital and quick.
but as a possibility, she probably has a sickness in the lungs or the heart, but both is very dangerous."
"w what?! i its just a possibility right?! it wont actually happen right?!"
"we'll have to see.. lets just hope for the best."

shiro was transferred to the ambulance, hinata, kageyama, kokoro, and yachi went with her.

as they drive to the hospital, all 4 of them were in deep depression, and sat down silent.
they didnt know what to do nor know what would happen if she was gone..
all they could do was pray and hope that her sickness isnt that severe.

they arrived at the hospital,
shiro was taken to a room to be checked on.
they took some of her blood, and examined it.
after that, shiro was sent to her own private room.
the doctor went and gave her the results of her examination.

the 4 sat down to the chairs, outside of shiros room.
they were silent and worried for shiros health.

the doctor went out and told them she had a severe sickness that couldnt be healed any longer.
those words, were painful for them.

" miss sasume,
she..she has heart cancer. "

the doctor said as he tried to keep his calm.

"shes had it for 2 years already, this is her last month, and..we cant save her.. i..no...we deeply apologize."

the doctor bowed and left.
the 4 was silent than ever, and all of them had silently burst to tears.

"this is all you fault.."
kokoro whispered.
"...what was that..?"
hinata questioned.
"i said....tHAT ITS ALL YOUR FAULT!!"
kokoro screamed at hinata, leaving the other two startled.
"kokoro chan whats wron-"
yachi asked.

"ITS ALL YOUR FAULT WHY SHIROS LIKE THis...if...if only you knew that she was sick...and why she always breathes heavily...and why she acts weird all the time..and..and the haircut...shiro chan...shiro chan hates haircuts..! you...you who knew her better than me..whos been with her longer...hOW COULD YOU BE SO STUPID?!"

kokoro chans face was full of tears..
the same with hinata, he knew how bad of a friend he was to her, and he couldnt accept himself as a friend to shiro anymore.

"i..im the one whos stupid..."

kokoro crimples her skirt, and soon she fell down and the wall was the only thing that could support her.
she cried and covered herself up, her crying was the only thing they heard from the empty hallways.

yachi was guilty, and was mixed with all types of emotions, she hid the fact that shiro was sick, and even though she really wanted to tell them so badly, she had the feeling, that shiro will be the one to tell them.

kageyama clenched his fist, and couldnt hold out his tears, he hid himself, and cried quietly,
he didnt want to loose her.

hinata cried and cried, and never thought to the fact that shiro was in pain, the shiro he knew who was shy but cheerful, and was strong, was in deep pain and sadness, and he didnt know a single thing about it.

hinata had always been protective to shiro, but after they had moved away, hinata didnt even get a chance to say goodbye to her.
soon he started to forget about her, but after seeing her in highschool again, he had felt guilty for not saying goodbye to her.
but, he plegded to himself that he will never say goodbye to her anymore, because they will always be by eachothers side.
so he wishes, that this would never be the day where he will never see her again.

the nurse that checks up shiro once in awhile had went to her room.
afew minutes have passed and the nurse said that they are allowed to come in.

all 4 of them stood up as fast as they can, and hinata had opened the door.

there they saw shiro, she was sitting on her bed, wearing hospital clothes, and all of her hair was gone, but that doesnt change the fact that she was beautiful.

shiro noticed the door open, and she saw all four of them with reddish eyes, her eyes widened and she gave them a genuine smile.

"she is beautiful as ever."
