The smell of the hospital greeted me as I heard a machine beeping next to me.

"She's barely holding on." I imagined a man in scrubs saying.

I felt someone grab my hand. I would have opened my eyes but I was to weak.

"Tiffany," a voice broke, "please come back to me."

I'm so sorry Anthony. I thought.

I heard the beeping speed up as it became harder and harder to breath.

"She's going into Cardiac shock!" someone yelled.

"Someone contact her parents!" another person yelled.

"I'm sorry sir but you'll have to wait out side." I heard some one say to I'm assuming is Anthony.

"Good bye Tiffany." Anthony said kissing me on the lips lightly.

Voices started to fade away as I could hear a flat line next to me and soon I faded into light.

The next thing I knew I was laying down my eyes closed but a new smell came in my nose. flowers. I opened my eyes and saw I was laying in a meadow. I looked around and saw forest surrounding it.

"Hello." A boy about two years older than me spoke.

My head shot in his direction. I slowly stood up wiping the dirt from my pants.

"Who are you?"

"I'm Carson." he said.

"I'm Tiffany. Where am I?"

"Why your in heaven."

"So I'm dead?" I asked.

"Yes, now follow me."

"Why?" I asked

"Well we need to start your training so the council can appoint you a guardian angel." he answered simply.

I shut up and followed him into the forest.

"A guardian angel must learn the most basic skill to any kind. Survival." he said picking up a curved stick.

"1st thing you do: Find/make a shelter." he said collecting sticks. before I knew it he was weaving the sticks together and had made it a roof by putting it up with some sticks and stilts. he had put leaves on it too so there weren't any cracks.

Soon it started raining and I was soaked in my thin sweater and skinny jeans. I stepped carefully in my combat boots as we move under neath the roof.

"2nd thing you do: build a fire." he said. he dug a fire pit and put a circle of rocks around it. He got some sticks and put them up, teepee style.

He blew softly in the middle and a fire grew quickly as he moved the leaves and water lightly dripped in. soon the smoke lifted out of the shelter and I knew what it was for.

"You have magic?" I asked as I processed what I saw.

"All guardian angels do."

"Can you use it down on Earth?" I asked.

"Yes but there will be consequences." he answered quickly.

"You will be going through training until the council says you are ready." he said.

He started to leave.

"Wait!" I shouted to him.

"I can't survive in the wilderness! I don't know how!" I shouted to him.

"Rely on your instincts and you'll be fine." and with a crack of lightning he was gone.

"I can't believe she's gone." I could hear Anthony say.
