What was I doing right now? Enjoying the soft leafy ground under my paws and the wind through my fur as I whizzed through the forest. Who am I? Luke Anderson. Now, what am I? That is a good question, you see, I'm what people call a 'were' 'wolf'. You know, like the Twilight people, but much more dangerous. We're talking anger issues.

You see, because of the wolf inside of us we get very angry very easily, and when we get angry, we snap. Like a twig. I should know, it happens to me, All. The. Time. I even killed my brother because of it. Trust me, not something I enjoy talking about.

Ever since then I have distanced myself from others, I moved from my pack and even though people at school want to be with me because I'm what humans call 'hot' and 'popular' I try to keep contact to minimum. Espeshally on the days of a full moon. Then, even the slightest thing can set me shifting and tearing it to pieces.

So, you ask, how do you feel about yourself right now? The truth? I hate it, the constant fear that I could kill somebody close to me is a horrible feeling. I wish every day that I could take what I did to my brother back. I live every day with the insane guilt and fear. Fear. Out of all the feelings the top one has to be fear, followed closely by guilt.

I don't wish this on anybody, even the worst of people don't deserve the constant strain of these feelings. And to make matters worse, I have to deal with all of this… and a normal life. That means school, tests, exams, friends, parties, grades… just great, huh?

I slowed to a walk as I came to the edge of the forest that led up right to my house. Finding the knot hole that contained my clothes I quickly shifted and slipped them on, walking to my small one-story house. This morning was a new term for school, and that meant new sceduals. I got ready for school and came outside just as my friend Trent arrived in his old red Fararri. I jumped in, throwing my bag in the back as he hit the gas and sped us off to school.

"Today's a new term, thinking you might try and go for some of the girls in our new classes?" He asked, that did get me thinking, maybe I'll find my soulmate. The one quest that is on every werewolf's mind is their mate, before and after they find them. They're entirely devoted to each other until their last breath. Nothing, comes before a mate.

"I don't know man, I will if they're not already jumping on me." I was at the top of the school, every girl swooned over me, and some of them were actually pretty cool, but my mate was always in the back of my mind. If you're wondering, Trent doesn't know about me, he chooses to stay out of anything weird in my life, which is good. As we pulled into a parking slot closest to the school we noticed and smirked at the girls that followed us with hungry eyes.

"Wonder how long it will take until one of the girls asks you out." Trent asked, I smirked.

"Bet it'll be a new record." We grabbed our bags and stepped out, instantly being met by some cute chicks from a grade below ours.

"Hey Luke, what do you think about me and you get something to eat sometime? My treat." Her spoke with a slithery tone as she stroked my chest with long nails. I just looked back at Trent and chuckled.

"How long?" I asked, referring to our bet in the car, he smiled but shook his head.

"Didn't even get to start the timer."

"Yeah, well we still have girls from our grade too, right?"

"When shall I start the clock?" I wasn't able to answer him though, for I was too focused on something much more interesting. Her. As she walked into the school with her perfectly long legs and her amazing wavy ashen hair I cold feel my heart stop before picking up pace at an alarming rate. Mine. My property to love and cherish with all my heart until my last breath.

"Found a keeper I take it?" Trent asked, gesturing to the gem I had just discovered.

"Who is she?" I asked, Trent knew everyone in the school, even if others didn't, he was his own data book, and for that he was extremely helpful.

"That's Kaila Saunders, A.K.A. Whisper. She's as quiet as the wind, and gentle as a feather, never says bad of anybody. She never speaks above a quiet tone, hence her name. Seems almost as if she can just blow away in the wind."

"How come you never mentioned her before?"

"Her classes were on the other side of the school, never saw her so I didn't think there was a need." I merely 'humphed' and continued watching as she made her way into school, leaving my view without even knowing I was there. "Come on man, class will start soon." Trent interrupted my daze, I nodded and together we made our way into the building, following the large arrows taped to the walls that directed us to Mrs. Harman's class to get our schedules.

While we were walking I caught a glimpse of dark hair, but didn't find her. Finally we all crammed into the History teacher's classroom, people sitting on the floor, on desks, in chairs, on windowsills in order to make enough room for everyone. Trent and I, being the most popular, sat at the very front, leaning against the front desks and crossing our arms, gripping our triceps.

"Now, I will call your names and you will come up and receive your schedule, you will sit back down without making too much noise and quietly wait for us to be finished with the other students." Mrs. Harman instructed before looking at the sheet that no doubt had our names written on it. She began calling names, and since my last name was Anderson I was called first. I made my way up with a smile playing on my mouth as I knew I was all that, the girls staring at my body as I walked up and the teach handed me my schedule.

"Mr. Anderson, I see your glorious reputation has remained intact." I smiled and nodded as I was given my classes, turning around and smiling at the girls as they stared and giggled, some even squealing. Mrs. Harman proceeded to call the other students' names as I sat and waited for my beautiful angel to be called. Before that however was Trent, his last name being Coleson, I watched as others were called, nerds, jocks, nobodies, girly-girls, tomboys… I nearly fell asleep.

My head snapped to attention as I heard the holy words "Kaila Saunders" being called, even on some else's tongue they sounded heavenly and I instantly knew they were my favorite two names. I saw her come from behind me and walk by, her luxurious locks whipping out behind her as she walked, brushing against my skin and leaving tingles. She quietly made her way up and I realized everyone was staring at her. I let out a low, deep growl that was too quiet for measly humans to register, but let every animal know she was mine.
