1 Month Later

Daniel has been acting nervous lately, and it's making me nervous.  Ever since our run in with Jameson's henchman, Daniel has been nervous.  Paranoid.  We were meeting Jameson in LA Boulevard.  Before I went to Boston these were the loose ties that needed to be tied up.  Daniel was scared that I would be targeted again.

"You should go," Daniel said to me once again.

"I told you, I'm not going anywhere.  I don't want him to hurt you, and I think he won't be as much as a dick if I'm here.  I could be wrong though.  I want to be by your side," I said and took Daniel's hands in mine.

We stayed in LA the entire month.  We were both on edge but we tried not to let Jameson ruin our summer.  We went all over and then looked at different apartment buildings in case we wanted to move here later in life.  It was exciting looking at a future that might be ours someday.  I would make it happen, no matter what was in my way.  We stole some things as well, but we almost go caught.  Wasn't the smartest decision.

Daniel was pacing waiting for Jameson to show up.  He was making me more nervous then I wished to be.  He pulled out a cigarette and lighted it.  He always smoked when he was nervous or on edge.  I walked over and took the cigarette and then put it in my mouth.  Daniel loved it when I would do that.  I blew a gust of smoke out in his face and he inhaled.  I giggled until we heard tsk tsk tsk behind us.

"So cute," Jameson's rough voice said.  We turned around and Daniel pushed me behind his body.  He put out the cigarette, and walked up to him.

"Don't try anything funny.  I have all my men here, in many different places.  You try anything especially the cops, and my men will shoot your Boy Toy without thinking," He threatened Daniel and I looked around.   Whoever they were, they blended with the LA crowd.

"I don't want trouble, Jameson.  I'm sorry that I ran all those years ago.  I was scared, I was fifteen and scared.  I'm sure you can understand that.  I'll do anything you want, but please don't hurt him.  Please.  I love him," I heard Daniel beg, Jameson.  Daniel was rarely ever vulnerable, if he was then it was only with me.  Daniel never begged.  People begged him.

Never.

He always got what he wanted.  He never had to beg.

"You may have been fifteen, but you knew what you were getting yourself into once you met me, and stayed.  You left a mess that we had to clean up.  Guess what?  That doesn't sit well with me," He said louder.  Other people walking on the street started to look up and pay attention to them.  Once Jameson noticed that he was drawing attention to himself, he lowered his volume.

"We are going to go talk in the ally," Jameson said and grabbed Daniel's upper arm.  I gasped and started to follow them.

"Don't Jack.  Stay there," Daniel said with a hint of panic in his voice.  I didn't follow them exactly but I did walk to the end of the ally, and looked.  Jameson made sure that he took him out of ear shot so I couldn't hear.  As long as he was safe, then I didn't care.  I closed my eyes and focused on there voice, I tried to block out distractions.  Traffic. Dogs. Conversations. People. Footsteps.

"I'll do anything you want, but leave Jack alone," I heard Daniel say.

"Anything?" Jameson asked.

"Anything."

"Okay," I heard Jameson say but then a car honked loud and long.  I couldn't hear the rest of the conversation.  I leaned my head against the building and waited for them to be done.  Trying to listen to this conversation wasn't worth it.  Suddenly I felt a hand around my arm, and I jumped.
