Listen to- Habits by Tove Lo (Hippie Sabotage Remix)
I may have choked.
Currently coughing up my lung.
Dying.
Write my eulogy.
Peace out world."Oh shit." Beck says coming behind me rubbing my back and handing me some water. I gulp it down and try to catch my breath. After a few minutes I can finally breathe normal. I look at Beck who is still rubbing his hands up my back slowly. I raise my eyebrow at him.
"Oh sorry." He takes his hand off my back making me miss the feeling slightly.
"So what are you doing here?" He asks now raising his brow at me.
"Uhh stoner picnic?" I say sending him an awkward smile and handling out my lit joint offering it to him. He eyes me and then the joint slowly taking it. He lifts it to his lips and take a drag. He instantly starts to cough making me laugh loudly.
"Oh shit. That was hilarious." I say wiping my eyes from tears.
"Well that was my first time trying that." He says taking another hit suprising me.
"Seriously?" I say shocked. He nods his head.
"Well don't feel like you have to smoke Beck."
"Nah it's cool. I've always wanted to I just never did." He says while handing the joint back to me.
We go back and forth for a while until the first joint is finished.
"I don't feel anything. Aren't I supposed to feel something?" He asks making me chuckle.
"Just wait like 30 minutes and we'll smoke the other one. You'll feel it then. Most people don't get high the first time they smoke." I bring out the Honey Barbecue chips that I brought and open them. Chips make me happy. I offer Beck some and he takes them sending me a smile.
"So what's been up with you lately?" He asks grabbing the Oreos. I still at the question.
"What do you mean?" If I play dumb maybe I won't have to talk about Jake with Beck because I would rather not.
"Mari you've been sulky since your birthday."
"How did you know when my birthday was?"
"Everyone in school was talking about your party. It's literally all anyone talked about for weeks." He lays on his back and puts his hands behind his head.
"So, are you going to tell me what's been bothering you or am I going to have to guess?" He says not looking at me. I sigh and lay down beside him.
"I'd rather you didn't." He chucked at me.
"Jake dumped me." Silence lingers in the air after I say that.
"That uh.. that sucks. I'm sorry." Beck says awkwardly.
"Can I ask why?" I sigh at his question but I tell him anyways.
"Jake walked in on Drake kissing me on my birthday. I was super drunk and Jake went to get himself a drink so Drake took me upstairs and kissed me out of nowhere. I tried to push him off but he wouldn't move until Jake tore him away from me. Jake wouldn't even let me explain that the kiss was forced and one sided, he wouldn't listen to anything I had to say he just left. He's in Italy now with my sister in a gang war with Russians." I finish with a huff.
"Uh.. wow. I was not expecting that. I mean I knee Drake had feelings for you that was obvious but I didn't think he would do that. And I definitely didn't expect Jake not to hear you out that's pretty shitty." Beck says giving his two cents which I actually appreciate.
"Honestly I think he never trusted me. It was like he expected me to fuck up some how and hurt him so the second he thought I did he ran with it. It makes me mad! I mean everyone thinks I'm this awful bitchy person which is only partly true but I would never cheat on someone. And I really liked him!" I say getting a little heated.
"I'm sorry."
"Its whatever. It's not your fault Beck." I say with a sigh.
"No I mean I'm sorry for saying all those rude things to you the last time we talked." He says looking at me.
"Oh.. uh well it's ok. Water under the bridge. But can I ask why you said those things?" He looks hesitant to tell me. He closes his eyes and takes a breath.
"M, the people I work for are awful people. I know that your a mafia princess and was raised around killers but I didn't want to risk you getting hurt because of me. You're to important." He says holding my eyes with his. His sweet words send a warm feeling through my body. I smile at him and lean into a seated position. I grab the second joint and light it. Beck also sits up and moves close to me. I pass him the joint for him to take a hit. He puts it to his lips and breaths in. He starts to cough yet again making me laugh again.
"It'll get better." I say and take it from him. We pass back and forth for a bit just enjoying each others company. I lay my head on his shoulder and he makes no objections.
"I miss hanging out with you." I say and he tenses.
"We can't be seen together M. I can't let you get hurt because of me." He says sadly. I sigh but I nod in agreement. We finish the joint and chill for a moment.
"Maybe... maybe we can meet up here again tomorrow?" Beck says. I lift my head to look at him and smile.
"Yeah. I'd like that." He smiles back at me.
"Okay I'm starting to feel this one." He says making me laugh at him.
"How you feel?"
"I'm fine. It's weird but like a good weird. I just feel super chill." He says making me laugh harder. He's one of those high people.
