chapter 3. the forest...

__

Over-grown grass and sprouting roots brushed against the soft skin of your ankles, as you slowly made your way to the manor in front of you.  The stairs creaking with every unsure step you took.

Your small hand balled into a fist prepared to knock on the door.

Before you could even touch the wood an ear piercing cry was let out from inside the building.  Cries of plead flooded your ears as they grew louder with each second, sounds of struggle and violence taking effect.  Your blood ran cold and stance stiffen hearing it near the other side of the door.

Shadows formed under the door while blood leaked as well.  Heavy breathing being let out as the cries stopped.

The knob twisted, running back was not an option now- surely you'd be caught.  With a new found adrenaline you scampered to the side pressing yourself flat against the wall.

The door swinging open seconds later, stepping out was a tall thin boy.  His white hood drenched in blood, raven hair messy and matted as he tugged along with him a body.

The limp form being dragged by the wrist as he tugged it further from the house.  Rash thinking had you sprinting into the place before he had the chance to turn around and notice you.  Your wounded knee aching in the process.

Warm thick liquid stuck to your bare feet, the blood.. you had stepped in it.

Looking back you spotted the tracks you had left behind, leading right to you.  Your heart beat quickened with a new found fear as you scanned the room for a hiding spot.

Hearing the creaking of the front porch's step you panicked, tearing up at the thought of being caught by that sycophant.  Breathing seemed to become harder as you circled around, scanning your surroundings.

Your head began to pound with the sound of static filling your ears, every nerve in your body spiking.

Where's that sound coming from?!

Echoing footstep neared you, suddenly everything around you started to blur.  Hot tears began to drip down from your face, hitting the ground silently.  The ear piercing static never faltering as you fell to your knees.

Eyes trained on the floor boards you watched as a pair of black combat boots entered your field of vision.

The static growing stronger and a way of nausea over coming you, slowly you shifted your gaze up meeting what seemed like two male figures.  One who seemed average height with his attire consisting of nothing but the color black, with the acceptance of a navy blue mask.  The other a tall slender male, dressing in a neat black suit with a vivid red tie.  But you screamed seeing he had no face, nothing but a smooth blank pale face with no features to detail him by.

Your conscious slowly began to fade away as the two looked at each other for what looked to be a conversation.

--

Bolting up straight you took in a sharp breath, your body was drench in sweat wrapped in your bed sheets.

Your eyes scanned the room frantically, only to find you were still in your room, the curtains lightly blowing through the open widow.

Only a nightmare...

Sighing softly you tried to slow down your heart beat, which was beating tremendously fast.  Crawling to the edge of the bed you swung your legs over wincing at the faint sting that poked at you.

Your eyes seemed glued to the small scrape that graced your skin, the wound seeming fresh, but cleaned...?

Again your heartbeat picked up, the room seemed to spin around you and your stomach dropped.  You wanted to scream out loud and yell for help, but your attention was snapped towards the door hearing a faint knock.

"(y,n)?  Are you awake, your grandmother made breakfast."

It was Simon.

Where was he at last night?

A thousand thoughts ran through your head as you tried remembering everything that accrued last night.  The mansion, the psychopath, and the weird looking figure that hovered over you.  what had they done to you?!

Without noticing him enter Simon sat quietly beside you on the bed, folding his arms over his chest gazing worriedly  down at you.

Your expression was one of pure fear, as you sat frozen beside him looking into the distance in deep thought.

"Are you alright flower?"  Simon asked.

Turning your head slowly you faced him, you shook your head resting it against his shoulder.  "Simon, how well do you know the forest...?"

I've got a headache, I've literally been falling asleep at four in the morning, and I'm pretty sure that's no good for my health.  However I've been trying really hard to update everything lately, I just feel horrible that people comment or message me that they're waiting on me to update something.

So, I've been staying up late to do just that.  Hopefully you all enjoyed this chapter, if not I apologize, now on to working on some of the request I've gotten.  Wish me luck, I've got five of those to do.
