the two arrived at the usual restaurant yugyeom, jaebum and bambam go to. the rest of the boys were already seated in a round table at the rooftop, with an overview of seoul lights and the cold breeze blowing their skin.
"stop acting weird. theyll notice." yugyeom told jinyoung, who was now avoiding him even though theyre only feet apart.
"im not." jinyoung managed to answer before they reached the rooftop. immediately youngjae and jaebum welcomed the two, who effortlessly acted cooly like they didnt just have a full makeout session in the elevator.
"whats the occasion? is it our anniversary yuggie?" bambam started, having in mind the exact script theyve made for the two. jinyoung looked up at bambam, confused and a bit upset with what hes heard.
"youre together?" he spat out, instantly regretting it.
bambam and the other guys exchanged looks of satisfaction, as their front was flowing accordingly as planned. the skinny male only giggled, only confusing jinyoung a bit more until yugyeom spoke.
"were not. i suppose you already know that before you asked." yugyeom said, looking intently at jinyoung and the marks on his neck, which was also spotted by the other guys immediately.
"i see." the five guys said in unison as soon as they felt the two were looking each other for too long.
jinyoung however, felt relieved and annoyed at the same time, as he didnt know who to believe. why did he kiss back if he had bambam? or was bambam just kidding? he thought.
"i ordered for us already. so whats the occasion really?" jaebum asked once again, taking a sip of his water.
"well mr. park here, after taking a look of the cases a while ago, has already devised a plan to possibly raise our stocks again." yugyeom said, almost proudly as he stared into jinyoung who felt so shy and small under his gaze.
jaebum almost spit out his water, bambam hit his knee on the table, youngjaes jaw dropped, while the couple raised their brows at each other, "told you." mark whispered to his boyfriend.
"youre amazing jinyoung.. how? i mean whats the plan? how did you think of it that fast?" jaebum replied while the others listened attentively.
"well, i dont exactly know. i just read through them and instantly found what was lacking. i think being a fresh grad has its pros since i clearly still remember the theories ive learned." jinyoung stated, and yet again yugyeom never felt so amazed with a person until jinyoung came into the scene.
jaebum nodded, waiting for jinyoung to continue, "well, based on my research, viper company was just established three years ago right? and kim group, how many?"
"fifty-eight." yugyeom answered.
"thats it. number one, viper is a new company, built on trendy ideas. not exactly too innovative, but trendy, which the people like. however, kim group, it surely is innovative. it has its own style, its own charisma, but do the people like the way it is? does its charisma attract the peoples interests or does it only satisfy the owners interests?" jinyoung continued, making yugyeom listen more attentively to what he has to say.
"number two. this is an easy problem to solve. we just have to incorporate the old kim group into the trend and make a few calculated risks. ive checked earlier and our hotels seem to be still on the ranks, but our restaurant chains seem to be on the edge am i correct, sir?" yugyeom slightly glared at the younger. you still had the time to tease me here huh. he thought.
"correct. what now?" yugyeom answered.
"do you wanna know why it became like that?" the guys nodded, "we are too traditional, but im not saying being traditional is wrong. we just have to be the right kind of traditional." jinyoung explained.
"can you explain further? i think i get what youre trying to say." bambam said.
"well, sometimes when things are traditional, they lose the essence of excitement, uniqueness, and history. it just sticks to the surface of something and forgets that there is always, always more to what the eyes can see." jinyoung continued, his eyes glued on yugyeoms.
"i think our restaurants dishes are too mainstream. due to our desire to expand our business, we lose money continuously and we fail to go with the trend. what i suggest is, we not just promote korea's culture through our mainstream dishes, but also dig deep into the roots of these, trying to find more dishes that can accurately and distinctively identify korea. in that way, customers will not just taste, but also feel."
the other guys were beyond stunned with jinyoungs suggestion. it was a simple one, yet it mustve slipped through their minds while they were busy complaining on how to resolve the problem.
"renovation and risks?" yugyeom stated, still not missing a blink staring at jinyoung.
"exactly. and also, since we have bambam here, from thailand, jackson from hong kong, and mark from taiwan and the us, why dont we make the most out of our plan? although it can follow once weve established the first one. no rush here, mr. ki-- i mean yugyeom." jinyoung happily stated, making the other guys internally scream as their plan was obviously wasnt needed anymore.
yugyeom and jinyoung were still lost in a trance, eyes full of hope and hearts at peace as they can already see the latters plan working out. they just had to take a risk.
