Twisting right and left, Mira was experiencing another restless night. Her window was open, and even the gentle summer breeze filling in could not ease the frown on her face.

A touch as light as feather brushed across her hands and slowly moved towards her abdomen. Her breath hitched, feeling soft fingertips on her bare skin. They traced a small circle, a gesture that eased the tension on her shoulders. The ghost of a hand moved upwards, slithering like a snake against her skin and everywhere it touched, it burned. Oddly, the burn was sweet and warm, as if promising her a sweet lullaby and a blissful sleep. But there was something off, a feeling she could not shake. When the fingers reached her collarbones, a shiver went down her spine.

She was curious but she could not see, shrouded in darkness like a butterfly waiting in its cocoon.

"Mira."

The hand that toyed with her collarbones slowly wrapped itself around her neck and her once warm body felt ice cold. She stiffened, the worry in her stomach growing by the second.

Two golden eyes stared back at her in the darkness.

And the hand squeezed.

Breathless, she sat up straight. Hair flying everywhere as her hands wrapped around her neck, checking to see if the hands were still there. Not feeling anything, her widened eyes calmed down. But she had to make sure it was a dream so she jumped out of her messy bed and rushed in front of the mirror.

Using the moonlight illuminating her room, she checked for the fingerprints that did not exist.

Once satisfied, she took a deep breath and went back to her bed. Sitting on the warm covers, feet dangling from the tall bed, she buried her face to her hands.

The same dream for two weeks, two fucking weeks. And it always started with a warm feeling, a sense of trust, home but it never lasted. The dream always ended up in her being choked and those golden eyes staring.

It was haunting and she did not like it, not one bit.

"It was just a dream," she mumbled, hands leaving her eyes and eyes wandering to the open window. The white curtains slowly danced with the light breeze. The sky had yet to lighten up but the moon was present, guarding the night against the dark.

She rubbed her eyes, ignoring how beautiful the valley looked under the moonlight. She had to get some sleep. And besides, she was safe. It was just a silly dream.

She laid back on the covers, head hitting the soft pillow. A sigh left her lips as her tired eyes closed themselves.

And soon, she fell asleep.

Unknowing of the two golden eyes upon her ceiling.

Watching.

She basked under the sunlight, her auburn her taking a reddish hue. The warmth of the dazzling sun was comforting after another restless night, especially when the pure forest air filled her lungs with much needed oxygen.

Finally, she felt like breathing.

She stood like a shining statue with her arms wide open, palms facing up toward the sun.  The waves of hair cascaded down her back, complimenting her all-white outfit. Well, it was all white, excluding the mud patches that decorated her legs.
