The rustle of leaves disturbs the peaceful silence of the forest as a figure jumps from branch to branch at lightning speed, seeming as though they were gliding to each tree with every stride. The heavy cloak of feathers adorning their lithe body wasn't even enough to slow them down as they travel towards the human's cave. Owen didn't wish to keep Y/N waiting with the sun threatening to set soon, even though his large eyes could see perfectly well in the darkness. He knows a human's eyes were not so strong, and besides, the fog always sets in at night, which would only make things more complicated for the girl. The near-silent flapping of wings sound on both sides of him as a parliament of owls join him in his journey.
It wasn't uncommon of the birds to accompany him near nightfall and even sometimes during the day. Though normally owls weren't animals that flock together in large groups, they were always naturally drawn to his presence, which was only fitting for a man with the title of King of Owls. Soon enough, they reach their destination, and the man launches himself out of the trees before landing gracefully on top of the cave. He crouches down on all fours before crawling towards the opening and dropping onto the grass below, which causes Y/N to jump in surprise at his sudden appearance and drop the stick she was using to start a fire. Her frantic heart calms when she sees her visitor is no threat.
"Don't do that! You nearly gave me a heart attack." She sighs while resting a hand over her chest.
"Forgive me, that was not my intention," he apologizes while drawing nearer. "I've come to take you to the berry bushes, as we've planed."
"Right." The girl pushes herself off the ground before dusting off her filthy clothes. She takes a mental note to wash them in the river at some point. "I was actually worried you weren't gonna show with how late it's gotten."
