This year all people could talk about was the senior year homecoming dance. Who was gonna be king and queen blah blah blah all that rubbish. All the girls were already discussing hairstyles, makeup and dresses whereas I, sat in the library every lunch minding my own business. Keeping myself to myself. Chatting away to Mrs Rodriguez who I now learnt was divorced and had 3 children.
I remember when the first one happened. 2 weeks into senior year it took place, as if it was only yesterday when in reality it was on our 2nd Wednesday. After the first one, more and more starting happening again. At first it was a huge deal but after a while police couldn't explain it.
7 seniors had all vanished into thin air, without leaving as much as a trace to their sudden disappearances. Soon enough, people started to forget what had happened to the students, police eventually closed the case and said to news reporters that "the disappearances of these young children have now been marked as unexplainable deaths. With no trace we are unable to find relevant information. We give our condolences to all families, friends and teachers affected by this. Thank you for your understanding". It made me laugh how quickly they gave up on the case. Headlines in newspapers were all the same, "7 seniors from Hillside high dead?" I felt so bad for their parents. Unexplainable deaths of their child is rather unacceptable, but who am I to tell I am only 17. No one would listen to me.
They were all very different people. They only had 1 thing in common.
Was it that they all attended the same school? Or the fact that they were all seniors? No one knew. But there were 6 of us who didn't forget about them. The 6 of us wanted to get to the bottom of this, whether the police would help or not. That didn't bat much of an eyelid whenever more and more fliers came up around town asking for people to look for the missing 7.
It was odd to think that these particular 7 had vanished and not 1 single person knew the answers...
Why would the schools football captain disappear a month before a big game?
Why would the schools princess leave before homecoming?
Why would the Nerdy kid leave without a trace?
Why would the Gothic Emo girl hide from her gothic emo friends?
Why would the straight A student leave without telling?
Why would the gay guy run away from his popularity?
Why would the one guy that got so hot run away from all the attention from the girls?1 thing is for sure. All of them were kidnapped. But which of them are still alive? Which of them were not? Are any of them still alive?
