Chapter 15

Chapter 15: Phaedra

The group of friends had to avoid crowd after crowd of panicking and scared Dragon Children as they all swarmed to get away from the collapsing lacrima and falling debris. The two dragon slayers piggybacked their adopted children, doing their best to not let them see the death and panic around them.

"Mino!" Natsu called suddenly as he came skidding to a stop in a finally cleared area. It was next to a large boulder that sat in the middle of the water road, no one could get through unless they climbed over it.

The earth dragon hurried to his side. "What's up?"

"You need to take the kids and get to safety." He looked to the other beta dragon. "Stella go with him."

"Like hell!" She snapped.

"Stella-" Cobra started but she riled on him, silencing the snake tamer.

"Maria is at the dead center of this problem! I should have killed her a long long time ago but I didn't. She's MINE to kill now!"

Cobra glanced to Natsu who gave an exaggerated sigh. "Fine fine! You can kill the dumb bitch. But we need to get the kids to safety!"

"No! We want to stay to!" Sting called from over Natsu's shoulder. Stella reached over and bonked the white dragon his head. Tears built up in his eyes as he held his new head bump. "W-why would you do that?!"

"Because you're not using your head." She said pointing at him over Natsu's shoulder. "You parents are trying to protect you right now and make sure you get out of this shit-storm alive. You should listen to them."

Sting puffed up his cheeks in a pout but didn't say anything. There was another loud boom as more bits of lacrima landed around the city.

Cobra looked up at the ceiling, his ears twitching like mad. "The fissure above us is getting larger, the other lacrima are going to fall to!" He looked to the other with a grim expression. "This city is done for. The entire mountain is going to come down."

Stella cursed under her breathe and grabbed Mino by the collar of his shirt and yanked him over to her, their faces were so close they could have kissed. "Listen up Bitch Baby, it's about time you grew a pair because you got some crazy shit you're about to handle."

The timid brown haired boy swallowed nervously before nodding his head jerkily. Cobra didn't need hearing magic to know he was scared shitless.

Stella pointed to the far side of the cavern where all the Dragon Children had fled to. "There's thousands of innocent people getting caught up in this crap, and their all going to die if we don't get them out of here. The main entrance has closed itself off because of the cave in so you have to get all the earth dragons you can find and dig your way out!"

Mino's eyes widened. "Dig out?! That's crazy, with the mountain so unstable we could just make everything worse! And even with a hundred Earth Dragon Children we might not be able to-"

There was a reverberating slap as Stella struck him across the face. A red swollen hand mark instantly appeared on the stunned Dragon Child's face.

"What did I say?!" The water dragon shouted at him. "Grow a pair and save the citizens of this city damn it! You won't know shit until you actually do it!"

Mino bit his bottom lip hard and nodded again. Shara jumped down from Cobra's back and took the brunette a hand. "Come in Uncle Mino! We'll help! Right Sting?"

The white dragon kept down and scurried over to them. "Yeah! Lets go!"

Mino smiled. "Yeah." He looked to Stella and gave her the best determined look he could. "I'll do everything I possibly can."
