Chapter 12

Chapter 12: Stella McLean

Per Shara's request/demand the family went down to the ice city the next afternoon.

She was skipping around and bouncing up and down the sidewalks excitedly. A few of the city folk would laugh at her and move, others looked annoyed. Sting was latched onto Natsu's long sleeve so he wouldn't get lost, the salamander himself was giving Cobra a strange look. He was staring at that Lacrima again, the exact same big one from when they first arrived. Natsu tried talking to him but he must be casting his hearing somewhere else because he didn't respond in the slightest.

Natsu sighed and shook his head. He noticed his daughter going farther ahead into the crowd. "Shara, come back I don't want to loose you." He yelled after her vanishing form.

"Okay Natsu!" She replied and came back out of the crowd. She slowed down. "uhhh." Her little black hand pointed towards Cobra.

There was the sound of a yell then a splash. Water flecks hit Natsu and he looked over to see Cobra missing and ripple marks in the water. He bent over and saw through the clear water; Cobra was looking very confused, his cheeks puffed up as he held in air. The little finned water dragons swam to him quickly like hungry fish to bait. They grabbed him and started dragging him this way and that in an attempt to get him to play. He tried shooing them away but his scales and wings weren't made to go under water like the water dragons slick skin, so his movements were much more slow and the children just laughed at him finding it funny. He probably looked like he was going in slow-motion compared to them.

Suddenly a ton of bubbles came up to the surface as Cobra couldn't hold his breath anymore and relaxed. His eyes rolled back for a second as lack of oxygen started knocking him unconscious.

"Shouldn't we do something?" Sting asked while looking up at Natsu.

"Yeah we should." Natsu sighed, he knelt down and stuck his hand in the water-reaching for Cobra. One of the kids noticed and swam to Natsu. The girl grabbed his hand and played with it before nuzzling her cheek against his palm, the action reminded the salamander of a cat asking to be pet. He smiled at the funny girl but then she started trying to yank him inside the water.

"No I'm a fire dragon we don't swim well." He tried telling her but she kept pulling. "Let go-Cobra!"

The man look completely unconscious as he just floated there, the kids circled him trying to get a reaction. Natsu feared his mate just died when a hand grabbed his scarf and yanked him out of the water dragon grip. He was thrown to the side and saw Maria dive into the water. He blinked surprised as she pulled Cobra out of the water, he was gagging and coughing up water. Sting and Shara rushed over and helped the poison dragon as he collapsed on the edge of the sidewalk and just breathed. Maria climbed onto land and flicked water off of her hands.

"Sorry about that guys. The young water dragon around here are very playful." She said apologetically as she removed her shirt. Sting stared wide eyed at her bare chest, his mouth dropped open slightly. Natsu snatched up him and Shara, holding them by their heads with both his hands covering their eyes.

"Is it necessary to strip!?" Natsu hissed angrily. The beta dragon wrung her shirt out before throwing it back on. Everyone around them walked by with no interest except a few alphas who would stare before falling into the river roads themselves and become victims of the children.

"What? Oh right you normal humans hide your bodies excessively." She kicked her legs flicking water off of them.

"It's called having shame!" Natsu countered and Maria just shrugged.

She kicked Cobra's body. "You okay hot stuff?"

He groaned and coughed again. The silvernette laughed. "I'm really sorry. I would have warned you about the kids yesterday but Stella chased me out."
