The Gods of Krakatoa

Chap 8. The new sacrifices.

Twenty years passed. Jamie had grown to be kind, strong and handsome. Bella had gotten his eyes more healed up, and Hanzo had found his wife, and had three children. Kiara, Nico and Nea.

Mako walked into town with two boars over his shoulders, Jamie carrying one aswell. "Dad, Mako's here with boars!" Bella ran into her and Jack's house. "Oh? Go say hi." Jack said. He had grown old. Jamie smiled. Soon it would again be time for Sacrifices. Last sacrifices... Didn't come back alive.

Bella ran to Mako and Jamie, smiling. "Hey! Good hunt?" "Yeah, got this one just for you and Jack." Mako chuckled, walking to Jack's house. "Oi, old geezer, I brought food." ''You are one to talk, Mako.'' Jack chuckled. ''Thank you, old friend.'' He added. ''Sit down, please.'' Mako sat down. "You two want to quit the flirting and come join us?" Mako looked at Bella and Jamie, chuckling. Jamie blushed. "Coming, Father!" He said, walking in with Bella. Bella sat down by Jack, stretching her arms. "Boar for dinner? Count me in."

"I will go quickly take this to the butcher. I will be back soon." Jamie said, running out. "Come back here soon!" Mako yelled, stretching his arms. "I wonder when the next sacrifices will be announced." Bella tapped her lips lightly. "I don't know." Jack said, as they heard a knock. "Come in!" Jack said. Chief walked in.

Mako looked at him and bowed. Bella bowed her head aswell. "Hey there chief!" She grinned.

"Hello. Oh Mako you are here too. I want to talk with you two. In private. So. Can you leave for a bit, Bella dear?" The chief asked. Bella nodded her head and walked outside, going to Hanzo's house. Mako looked at the chief. "Yes, what is it?" "We have chosen new sacrifices. They will be Jamie, Bella and Kiara." The chief said. "What?!" Jack asked in terror. Mako's face darkened a bit. But he nodded quietly. "I'll let Jamie go if he wants to." 'Kra IS his creator...' He thought.

"Thank you." Chief said. "Ask from your children. Please. I will go talk with Hanzo." Chief said and left. Mako and Jack both nodded, sitting by the table. "So, Generation two meets the gods." Mako chuckled quietly.

"Yes. So it seems. I am just slightly worried... What will lord Ka do to Bella." Jack said. "Whatever the gods do, we'll have to be fine with it." Mako sighed. "Yes..." Jack said. Mako stood up. "I'll go talk with Jamie. You handle Bella." Mako smiled and hugged Jack lightly, then walking out. Jack nodded. "Bella!" He called out. Jamie was just returning from the butcher.

"Jamie, come here." Mako motioned. Bella skipped into the house, humming. "What is it pa?"

"You will be the next to go to Krakatoa." Jack said. Bella froze, gasping. "Really??'' "Yes. You shall meet the great gods." Jack said. "Beware. Lord Ka is... Maybe bit scary." Jack said. Bella nodded, suddenly looking very excited. "I get to thank him..."

Jamie heard the news. "What? Me?! Meet the god Kra?!" He asked, slight panic in his voice. Mako nodded. "You do." "Oh my..." Jamie said. "When?!" He asked. "The chief didn't say when." Mako pat his boy's shoulder. "Kra will be good to you. He's a very nice god."

"You were his chosen sacrifice, right? What kinda per-... God is he?" Jamie asked. "Were you going to call him a pervert?" Mako grinned a bit. "No, a person." Jamie said. "I wouldn't be disrespectful." He said. They could hear someone crying, running away from Hanzos home. It was Kiara. Mako looked at her and then at Jamie. "He's a good person, don't worry." Mako went silent for a second. "He likes back massages."

Jamie chuckled. "Alright. Then I will give one to him." He said. "Kiara!" Hanzo said, running after the girl. Bella walked out of her home. "Kiara? What's wrong?" "T-They say I will be a sacrifice! I don't wanna die!" She cried. "You too?!" Bella exclaimed, looking at the younger girl. "What? You will be one too?!" Kiara asked.

Bella nodded, grinning excitedly. "Yeah!" Soon Jamie and Mako walked back. "I am scared! I don't wanna die! What if they-...?!" Kiara started, but was cut off by Bella. "They can't be bad people if they cured my eyes." Bella's eyes were serious.

"Remember, I was blind when pa, your dad and mako went there. But Lord Ka gave pa a potion for my eyes, and I can see better than anyone else now!" "And Lord Kra let Papa find me. They cannot be bad!" Jamie said. Kiara was in silence for a bit. "F... Fine. I will come with you." She said.

Bella hugged Kiara closely. "I'll take care of the two of you." She smiled. She was 29, Jamie was 20 and Kiara 19. Soon came the day. Trio left to the island of Krakatoa with their fathers.
