*Chapter 19*
Quentin
Just afterward there was a faint clapping sound that got louder until a red-haired guy appeared with a mischievous grin plastered on his face. "Wow that astonishingly went even better than planned," he chuckled and approached Marcus.
"You bastard! What have you done to my mates?" Marcus cursed.
"Nothing major. Just hope that they won't die," he chuckled. "Now get to the point! Where is the CTG?" He quickly got serious when he pulled him up, tugging his collar.
"I don't have it," Marcus croaked.
The ginger head wasn't up for any games and immediately threw a punch in his face which caused a guilty feeling inside me. I flinched at the impact even though it was only from sight, I definitely knew how painful a hit like that could be.
"Don't shit with me, I just saw it in your hand! But fine, if you don't want to give it then I'm just going to take it," he insisted. "Grab him!" He commanded and with that two guys jumped up and tied him down. "Search through his pockets!"
And that is what they did. They emptied everything that was in his pocket, opened his jacket and searched if he was hiding something but ended up with nothing.
"What the fuck, where is it?" Ginger was starting to lose his temper.
I bit my lip. Marcus was actually smarter than he seemed. He knew that something like that was going to happen. It was like he never really considered that we had a chance against them, to begin with. But that doesn't explain why he gave that thing to me instead.
He could have easily given it to that tattoo guy or Zaron, whoever. Such a burden, I sighed. It's not like I could do anything with a gun pointed at me. And on top of it, that guy totally reeked of aftershave.
"What are you doing? Don't stand around, grab the other guys," the ginger pointed at the other two who could still roam around freely. Of course, the three could just run away but judged by the guy who was threatening me, it wasn't like it was that easy.
"You better stand still if you don't want that guy to suffer," he pointed at me. Zaron widened his eyes as the guy holding me pressed the gun on my skin. I gritted my teeth and was forced to watch as the guy checked Zaron's pockets for the object until they noticed that they were empty as well.
"No way, who did you give the damn CTG to?" Ginger looked down at Marcus who didn't look like he was going to answer any time soon. "Since you're no help anymore then we can also just get you out of our way."
He pulled out a gun and grabbed his hair as he pointed the weapon on his face. "Are you sure you're not going to change your mind?" He wanted to make sure before putting it to an end.
"MARCUS! No! Just tell him, it's not worth it to give away your-," the girl was cut off when the one threatening her roughly pulled hair.
"SHUT UP, TESS! Just shut the fuck up. Don't lay your filthy hands on her," Marcus shouted. My tummy was turning at the sight, how everyone's hands were tied.
"I don't think that you're in the position to tell anyone what to do," Ginger muttered. I couldn't stand still. There was no way in hell I could watch this going on. And I know these eyes. That ginger head was not joking around anymore. "Instead you should utter your last goodbye," he grinned at him and was close to triggering the gun when I couldn't hold it anymore.
"STOP IT! Don't dare kill him. Who are you to take his life?!" I screamed at him which immediately made him stop and turn around. His smirk was full of amusement when he stood up and put the gun away.
