"I can't deal with you anymore!" Mara Stevens threw up her manicured hands in desperation. Sweet Angelica with pins in her hair sat at the table besides her mother with a look of confusion etched upon her face.
"What did I do?"
"Nothing, you've done nothing darling." Angelia gave her mother a look of pure discomfort. Mara sighed and moved her dyed red hair away from her face. "You just don't understand, Angel. You're the perfect daughter. But I'm young! I want to be out partying with my friends still!"
"And this means you can't deal with me because..." Angelica deadpanned, scratching at her hair. Her petite body was clad in the prettiest pastel pink designer dress, her feet covered by knee high white socks and white trainers. The definition of innocent.
"Because your father hasn't had anything to do with you in ten years!" Mara was fuming with anger as she stomped around the kitchen island in her stilettos. "Doesn't even fund for you one bit! He should try raising a fifteen year old. Absolutely despicable."
"Why don't you try having a dad who's a millionaire and a super hero!" Angelica retorted, instantly shrinking back in her seat as she realised that she'd raised her voice.
"Do not talk back to me, young lady." Her caked face of makeup screwed up in anger. "That's it. Pack your bags."
"What?"
"You're going to stay with your father, whether either of you like it or not." Mara continued out of the room with her phone in her hand, scrolling through her contacts until she reached Happy. "It's Mara, Happy. Angelica's coming to stay with Tony. I don't care if he's busy! He's a father!" Slowly her voice faded away as Angelica made her way up the stairs to pack her bags.
Within the next day her baby pink room was bland and sparse. Angelica's bags were packed and ready by the front door for their chauffeur to collect. The tiny girl had already pleaded her mother to let her stay, that she'd promise to be good. Nothing seemed to budge Mara's decision.
"It might be fun!" Mara smiled happily, as though her whole body was happy her daughter was leaving. "Maybe he could teach you to fight! Get some muscles on your bones." She pinched Angelica's small arm lightly. She gave a half hearted smile in reply.
The innocent girls feelings were lost inside her mind as she worried about her future. She loved her mother, but she only thought of herself. She didn't care that Angelica wasn't too keen on Tony, or that she'd have to attend a new school. She only cared that she'd have the house all to herself.
Within an hour they were outside the Avenger tower. Angelica's bags were pooled around her and she carried a backpack on her back. Mara stood to her side, pushing up her boobs and fixing her hair. Angelica snickered, "I don't think dad's gonna ask you out, he's already with someone."
The tall woman sighed, "it's not for Tony. It's for the captain." Angelica gagged. Although, she wasn't surprised; This wasn't an unusual occurrence for Mara.
Happy opened the door to the tower. "Angelica. Mara." His smile brightening over the small girl. He'd grown older since the last time the little girl had seen him, with wrinkles around his eyes and his hair slightly receding.
"Hi Happy!" Angelica ecstatically replied at the sight of the man. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad after all. The man collected up Angelica's bags and beckoned them inside where Tony was sat waiting. This was the most difficult part; finally seeing her dad and getting over the awkwardness of the situation.
Tony sat in a plush leather chair, his hands entwined on his knees. As per usual, he was dressed formally in his suit and tie. His brown eyes were trained to the floor, deep in concentration. The sound of Mara's heels seemed to wake him up from his trance-like state. Upon seeing his daughter he instantly stood up and flattened out his suit. His eyes softened at the sight of her, a gentle smile etching it's way onto his lips.
"Angelica! Great to see you." He walked towards the small girl and held out his hand. Slowly Angelica shook it with a small smile.
"And Mara, you look different."Mara was paying no attention as she looked around the place. "Yes. It's the hair." She pushed a piece over her shoulder and looked over at Tony.
"Not to mention to breast implants." Tony mumbled, causing Angelica to giggle softly. It was no secret that Mara had changed herself over the years, something which Angelica despised.
Mara sent Tony a death glare, her eyes piercing into his soul. The man's hands went up in mock defence; his eyes flickering to Angelica to give her a wink. Happy cleared his throat, "perhaps I should show Miss Stark to her room?"
"Yes! Yes! Happy, you can do that and miss Stevens and I will talk, about our daughter's arrangements."
On the sixth floor Angelica and Happy took a step out the elevator. The place seemed sparse and without the life Angelica remembered Tony's house in Malibu to have.
"Where is everyone, Happy?" The short girl tried to keep up with Happy's footsteps as he walked towards the furthest room on the right. Some doors on the floor were left open, giving Angelica a chance to peek through and look at the interior. She spotted Wanda's room, grey in its glory.
"They're in Lagos." Happy replied, setting her bags down and opening the door. What was inside caused a gasp to leave Angelica's petite body and smile brightly.
Tony had remembered her favourite colour. The room was of baby pink and white interior, her bed white along with all the other furniture. Atop the furniture was various baby pink items scattered around. The first thing that caught her eye was atop her desk, the pink Apple laptop. She moved towards it. "They don't even do pink laptops!" She laughed, running her tiny hand over it. Angelica turned towards Happy, who was placing her bags by the bed. "He really did all this for me?"
The man looked up, a smile on his face. "He cares more than you know."
The fifteen year old smiled, running out the room and towards the escalator. When she spotted Tony she ran as fast as she could, cascading him in a huge hug. "Thank you thank you thank you!" She squeezed him tight. The man laughed resting his arm over her shoulder and rubbing gently.
"Anything for my angel."
