I wake up to my alarm going off and I roll over and hit snooze the roll back over.

"KAROLINE GET YO ASS UP!" My dad yelled. I got up and checked the time. Time to get ready for work at the veterinarian office as a volunteer. As I put my phone down my dad comes in my room.

"Didn't I tell you to get yo ass up bitch?" He said.

"I'm sorry I'm getting up now." I said.

"I'm really getting tired of you always fucking around! Are you talking to any little boys are you?" He said.

"No sir." I said.

"Lemme see your phone." He said. I hand him my phone and thank god I deleted Jovanni's and I messages. The only boy my dad allows me to talk to is my best friend Marcus. He hands me back my phone with another contact in there.

"Text Lamelo. He's good for you." My dad said.

"But I don't know him like that." I said.

"Then get to know him Karl." He said.

"Yes sir." I said.

"Now get ready for work." He said standing up and walking out. I get into my scrubs for work then head downstairs.

"Hey sweetheart." My mom said.

"Hi mom. I'm going to be home late tonight." I said.

"Why is that." She said stopping what she was doing.

"I have a lot of work to do and I'm probably gonna stay at Marcus house." I said.

"No. I don't care how late it is take your ass home. You know I don't like that boy Marcus." She said.

"What about Talia?" I said.

"That's fine but you're going to that damn boys house." She said.

"Yes ma'am." I said as I grabbed my keys and walked outside and see Melo just kinda chilling. I pay no mind to him and walk to my car.

"Hey!" He yelled.

"Me?" I said pointing to myself.

"Yeah." He said with a small laugh while walking towards me.

"Oh, hi!" I said with a smile.

"Where you heading?" He asked.

"Work." I said.

"Oh I'm sorry. I should let you go huh?" He said.

"You're fine but it was nice talking to you! Maybe we can hang sometime or something." I said.

"Sounds good. I'll see you some other time." He said.

"Okay bye." I said getting in my car. As I'm driving I see a car that's been behind me for a while now and I couldn't see their face and they had a black hoodie. So I instantly turn to the Walmart parking lot and they keep driving. I get back onto the road and drive to work and I was almost late.
