That whole week went by and I almost forgot that I had a birthday to plan . My baby was finna be 1 and I haven't went and got nothing for her like, boy does these men take my focus away I got up that morning and got dressed and went to my mom house to get melody while I am driving I get a phone call
It's Ryan I told myself that today was all bout my daughter today so I don't wanna be bothered so I let it ring
2 mins later he called back I'm like omg what does he want so I answered it
I said: hello
He said: wyd bae
I said: I am goin to get my daughter things for her bday
He said: you want some company
I said: not really
He said: girl stop playin
I said: I'm not
He said: what store u goin to
I said: walmart
He said: ok imma meet u there
Once the phone hung up I jus kept thinking like I really don't wanna be bothered today but I guess he can help me out
I finally made it to my moms house after 20 mins of driving I get out and go knock on the door forgetting that I have a key to unlock it
I yell: mom u home
She says: yea I'm in the kitchen
My mom loves playing her oldies when she clean up it's like her everyday routine she was in the kitchen really jamming while melody sitting on the floor playing
I said: mom are u Watchin her
She says: yea she good
I said: well I'm finna take her with me so we can get party things
She says: ok and Dre came by he said call him
I said: naw I don't think so
She said: why u mad at that fine peace of chocolate
I said: cause he don't know what he want it's irritating and childish
She says: well jus called him he sounded upset some bout his son
I said: well is the baby ok
She said: idk he wouldn't say it sounded like he was crying tho
I said: awwww ok I'll call him, where Melody's things
My mom said: in the din on that chair
I walked in the din and found melody bag and stuff on the chair. That din had so many memories from when my dad use to read and sing to us, to me and my brother playing hide and seek omg i loved this din my daddy was the best I miss him dearly, he died of a heart attack when I was 12.
Before we left I remembered what my mom said bout Dre and I decided to call him
He didn't pick up after the first time but when I called again I got an answer
He said: hello
I said: hey
He said: I need you right knw qui please (with a sobbing voice) I kno u probably don't want to see me but I really need u qui
I said: ok where you at Dre
Dre says: at the hospital
( I hear a voice in the background say really Dre)
Dre says: girl stfu u ain't shit to me im over you bitch u...
I interrupt: ummm Dre hello
He says: my bad
I say: y are u at the hospital
He says: I don't wanna talk on the phone I'll tell u when I see u
I said: ok umm well I'm finna go somewhere really quick me and melody
He says: no please qui I can't look...
(The voice in the background said boy u triflin how u gone leave your son here)
Dre says: BRO SHUT THE FUCK UP BEFORE I SLAP THE HELL OUT OF YOU BITCH
I interrupt: ok Dre what hospital u at imma come get u
Dre says: I'm at Mountain View but listen the doctor jus came in imma call u when I'm done
I said: ok well I'll wait for u
He said: ok
(The phone hung up and all I could think bout was what the hell is goin on)
(He arguing with some girl must be diamond and he never cries so whatever is wrong with his son must be really bad)
(I get melody say bye to my mom and head out
I remember that Ryan wanted to meet me at the store but for one I wasn't ready for him to meet melody yet things are a lil confusing for me at the moment an I don't want my daughter to witness that so I called Ryan and made up a believable lie, somehow he really believed it and told me to call him later)
(Bout 30 mins later I call Dre to tell him I've arrived at the hospital and to come out I waited for bout 5 min before he came out the front doors of the hospital, he looked so upset it looked like he was crying for 10 days straight)
( I watched him walk all the way around to the other side of the car and hop in it)( he didn't even look my way at all but I seen the hurt in his eyes when he looked back at melody)
I said: hey you ok
He said: no
I said: what's wrong baby
( he was silent for bout a couple mins)
I can't loose him he said
I said: who Dre
Dre said: my son
I said: what's wrong with him why do you think that
(Dre's eyes started to fill up with tears I felt so bad for him I jus wanted to stop this car and hug him)
Dre tell me I said
He said: My son has cancer
(I almost reck the car when I heard that good thing we were at the store finding a park once I found it I turned the car off and sat for a min)
I said: Dre your 1 year old baby has cancer
He said: yea and the fucked Up part bout it is they only gave him 3 months to live
( I jus really couldn't believe my ears Dre's son had so much spirit in him he was a Soulja he was always happy and a good baby)
(I was gone say some but Melody had started to cry so I jus gave him big hug and a kiss and told him that everything will be ok and I will stick by his side no matter what)
(I got out the car n grabbed melody out the car seat Dre got out and grabbed melody from me and smiled She always made him smile and what type of person would I be to take that away from him)
(We walked in the store and put melody in a shopping cart, Dre pushed her while I jus walked along the side of them)
I said: know mrs. Graham what will be your theme
Dre said: how bout we jus take her to the park or sum, its hot,we can have a regular party with friends an family and it can be water balloons, and cotton candy, games and cake ice cream. Wouldn't u like that melody he said ( looking in her eyes)
(Melody made a sound and smiled)
Dre said: see she likes that idea, plus qui she only 1 she not gone remember any of it all she gone do is play, run around and eat all day then when it's all over fall asleep
I said: I'm jus tryna do what her dad dreamed to do when she was old enough (Putting my head down with grief)
(Dre stops the cart)
He says: I kno qui (grabbing my face)
I said: stop Dre people looking
He said: I don't give a fuck( looking around to see people staring) THE FUCK YALL LOOKING AT!!!(then continued to push the cart) all I'm sayin love is make her happy all you need to care bout is seeing her smile and enjoying herself her daddy is goin to be watching her or he could be playing with her
I said: yea you right
Dre said: know let's get this party Stuff and get goin
(We were literally shopping for a hour straight I'm actually glad he came not only cause he needed it but cause melody is never this calm when it's jus me only person that ever kept her calm was her father and know Dre so I know she loves him)
(We got done shopping paid for all the things and headed back to the car it wasn't so hot today it was very nice today so Dre idea wasn't so bad, we put the bags in the trunk strapped Melody in and got in the car)
I said: oookkkk, so do u wanna go home and change or some
( dre gives me a blank look and looked away from me)
He says: I can't go home qui I can't be alone
I says: ok well ummm we can go back to my house if u want
He says: yea I jus wanna be around you and melody right knw imma go check on king later or some
I said: ok ( starting the car and driving off)
( that whole car ride was quiet I've never seen Dre like this and I hate that he goin thru so much pain plus I'm jus sitting here thinking bout the day we got into it and realized I don't act like that I shouldn't be mad cause he has a girlfriend but I am I wish it was me but y am I thinking like that)
