Good's POV
I was happy to see my best friend enjoying the fair so much. We kept on going from food booth to food booth trying out the different kinds of food from different countries.
I was not really a foodie and I am not too adventurous about tasting unfamiliar food so I stuck to pad thai and Thai fried rice with assorted seafood.
P'Wan was happy as well to see Can enjoying the various Korean, Mongolian, Philippine, Italian, Mediterranean and American foods that were being offered in the food stalls.
From time to time P'Wan would offer food to Can from her plate giving it to him straight to his mouth and then Can would do the same for her. They were enjoying each other's company so much that I was starting to feel like a third wheel.
Wait a minute...... nah, I'm sure it's not what I'm thinking. If it is what I'm thinking, he's dead meat. There's no freaking way that I would allow it.
After we had our fill of all the delicious food, we went to an area where there was an open stage and a live band was playing. The audience was singing along and most were even dancing to the music.
Can and P'Wan were singing along. I knew the lyrics to the song but I was too shy to sing it.
Then P'Wan started dancing and Can followed her cue. I just stood watching and listening to the band.
Then the band started to play a mellow kind of music and I saw Can bow to P'Wan before saying, "May I have this dance?"
P'Wan willingly took his hand and Can held her close as they swayed to the music. They were oblivious of me watching them intently.
I was starting not to like it.
When the band took a break, P'Wan suggested that we try the ferris wheel ride.
Can was excited to try it and so was I.
We went to the booth to buy the tickets and I heard Can and P'Wan arguing as to who would pay for the tickets. Can was saying that P'Wan had already taken care of our fair entrance tickets so he should be the one to pay for the ride.
I just stood there waiting for them to resolve their disagreement. In the end, Can paid for our tickets to the ferris wheel ride but P'Wan didn't look too happy.
Can tickled her side to make her laugh.
"Hey!" I yelled, "that's enough horsing around for both of you."
P'Wan and Can looked at me in surprise. They both had never heard me raise my voice before. I really didn't know what came over me either. Had I gone into brotherly protective mode?
"Sorry," said Can, looking at me with a puzzled expression.
"What's gotten over you?" P'Wan asked with obvious annoyance.
"I'm just impatient to get on the ferris wheel already," I said with a shrug.
We fell in line and when it was our turn, we climbed inside the coach which contained two seats, one facing the other. Each seat could hold two passengers.
I was expecting Can to sit beside me but he sat next to P'Wan instead.
I was really, really not liking this anymore. Was P'Wan trying to steal my best friend from me or was my best friend trying to steal my older sister from me?
I wasn't going to say anything yet. I was just going to sit back and observe these two some more before I jumped into any conclusions.
