Adrien layed in a hospital bed. Wires attached to his body.

King Gabriel was worried sick about his son. He couldn't lose him. No, he can't lose another family member.

He was also worried sick about the Princess. After the lights came on, she was no where to be seen. Her mother is devastated. Her father has been sending out search parties since the day of the wedding. And that was just two days ago.

Adrien has been asleep for two days. The doctor told Gabriel that Adrien will survive. And if he didn't, Gabriel would probably sue the hospital, he is the King.

A groan came from over on the bed as Adrien woke up.

He felt pain shoot through his body, so he had to remain lying down.

He glanced around the room and all he saw were boring white walls.

'What happened? Why am I here?' He asked himself in his mind. His throat was far too dry for him to speak.

He felt something stir beside him and he turned his head to see what it was.

A familiar red streak of hair met his eyes and he immediately knew it was Natalie.

'She slept here? Where's father?' Adrien thought.

He slowly pushed himself up in a sitting position. Natalie jumped out of her sleep.

"Adrien! You're awake!"

He nodded then pointed to his throat.

"You want water?" She asked, tilting her head to the side slightly.

He nodded once more.

"I'll go get the doctor and your father along with the water," She said before quickly rushing out of the room.

Adrien held his head as he felt a migraine coming on.

Why is he here?

What happened?

He sat and pondered for a while before it all came rushing back.

Marinette.

Wedding.

Nathaniel.

Dance.

Kissing.

Lights.

Gunshots.

Darkness.

'MARINETTE! WHERE IS SHE??' He thought frantically.

Soon the door to the room opened and in walked a dark skinned doctor and his father, a happy Natalie trailing behind.

He was shocked when he felt trembling arms wrap around him.

"Thank God you're awake. I couldn't lose you too," His father whispered in his hair.

The shock subsided and Adrien slowly wrapped his arms around Gabriel and rested his cheek on his shoulder.

'I don't think he ever hugged me before...' Adrien thought.

Adrien let out a sigh of content and a small smile rose to Gabriel's face.

They pulled away and the doctor stepped forward to speak.

"I see that you're now awake. I will prescribe some pain killers for you and you should remain on bedrest when you're discharged. The bullet in your stomach didn't hit any major organs, so you're lucky on that part. However, the stitches can rip if you move around too much," The doctor explained as Natalie gave Adrien a bottle of water.
