A/N: Hello lovebugs and HAPPY NEW YEAR! I'm so sorry for unintentionally lying to you guys, but like I said before, being pregnant can be draining and post-pregnancy isn't better (at first). I was so gung-ho on finishing this story (still am and very close I might add) but getting back into my groove has been rough as of late. I promise I am trying! And I appreciate you guys so much for sticking around with me, ya'll are the REAL MVPs! 😘

"Can you keep a secret?"

'Johnny's POV'

"And Quicksilver strikes again!"

Just one more race. And after tonight, I'm done. Fuck, I cannot wait.

"Yo Quicksilver! My money is on you!"

"Good luck tonight man!"

"You got this man!"

"Quicksilver is gonna leave Romano in the dust!"

"Hey Masters, I can keep your bed warm after you win tonight."

I scoffed loudly at the last comment, brushing the tenth girl to hit on me aside. There was only one girl in the world I wanted to warm my bed at night and she was slaving away at the campus bookstore. I've been tempted to ask her to stay more nights with me, especially if she had to work, but I didn't want to risk scaring her off.

Nevertheless, I was seriously missing my girl and after that phone call last night...the sounds she had made. Absolutely glorious. Fuck, I had it bad. I saw the woman practically every day and it still was not enough for me. Her presence just fills me up and all I want to do is discover more.

So, this is what love is like?

Love.

"Johnny!" A voice yelled making me turn. Marco was heading towards me with his signature grin. "Hey man, the 'Queen Bee' just arrived finally. You ready?" He asked in a chipper tone.

I grinned at the little name for my opponent.

Giuseppe Luca Romano was his name and being constantly late was his game.

He's some transfer student from Italy that was making a name for himself in the underground racing circuit. With a flair for the dramatic and a fancy red Ferrari, a cloud of arrogance followed him like a shadow. And being barely eighteen made it worse. I could not wait to get behind the wheel and knock him down a peg.

Again.

Smirking widely, I followed him. "Born ready."

Marco gave me a quick high five as we headed to the dirt road where my mustang was parked. A large crowd had formed by the time we returned, their voices buzzing with excitement. A guard (and Marco's cousin) pushed off my car as we walked forward. He wished me luck and patted my back as he disappeared to tend to the crowd. Both Marco and Romano's manager were placing last minute bets to the bustling crowd; the majority placed in my favor.

"No more bets! Back up, all of you!" A guard yelled as he and a few others directed the crowd behind a makeshift gate.

Now I was able to see my opponent clearly. He was surrounded by females and a pair of males that made up his entourage. I shook my head as I observed his obvious schmoozing. After a moment, he broke away from the group to shake my hand.

"Ey, Signore Quicksilver!" He cheered, accent thick and voice high. "Nice to see you again!"

"Likewise." I replied simply. "Think you can keep up this time?" I teased.
