"You need to let me in there so I can apprehend this beast!" Nathan screamed as he pointed to the wooden door, but Hope was having none of it, she stood in front of the door with her arms crossed, making sure Nathan wouldn't try to open it. Emma was beside Hope, pressing an ice pack on her shoulder. Oscar was downstairs, talking to some of the other girls trying to get information out of them.
"Why do you hate Raven so much?" Hope argued.
Nathan just looked to her sternly, he didn't need to answer her. He pushed Hope aside and stepped over to the door and shook the handle. Trying to prise it open but no use, he grunted as he continued to pull on the door to open it. There was a loud clunk on the other side of the door. Nathan pressed his ear up to the wood. "Let me in!" He shouted as he lifted off it. "Raven's awake!"
"No!" Hope shouted.
"Nathan, why do you want to cage Raven up so badly?" Emma questioned.
Nathan glanced to Emma, his face frowned as his face was stern. He huffed as he rubbed his cheek, trying to figure out what to do. "Fine." Nathan submitted. "It's because Toby and I... once fought Raven together."
Hope and Emma we're both intrigued. Nathan began, "a year ago to this day it all started when I got home from work." Nathan explained as he was taking back into memory.
He opened his door to his apartment. "I got that milk!" He laughed as he placed his keys into a small bowl sitting on a desk in the corridor. He stepped into the main room, picking up a letter which sat on the side. "So Ma, Pa... what do you-" He paused as he stared up at the sofa.
It was a picture of chaos. The entire living room was shattered, glass everywhere. A draft blowing in from the garden door. The lamp flickering as it tried to stay alight. It looked like a rhino had charged through the house. Smoke bellowing out from the still alit cooker.
His parents were unmoved. Both laying there, pale and lifeless. A gunshot to the head with drooling water. Nathan's heart screamed out, yet not even a whimper etched through his lips. He looked to his right, on the wall, written in his mother's blood was 8 words. "My family had no more use for you."
