Chapter One - Strangers

Hi and welcome to my story of love, heart break and happiness and everything in between, my name is Lillyanna Stakes but I go by Lills. I'll take you all the way back to the beginning to when I had just graduated high school.

I stood in the quad with my older brother "I can't believe I just graduated!" "congrats little sis!" Leo said hugging me "let's go celebrate!" I said "that's what I'm talking about" he said walking over to my mother.

We went to my locker to get the rest of my things when my mom and dad walked up to us "I'm so proud of you sweetheart" my mom said hugging me "we both are" my dad cut in and Leo and mom rolled their eyes "nobody cares" Leo said to dad with his eyebrows furrowed "let's head home and get you ready darling" mom said and we all went to the cars.

We went to Leo's restaurant "would it have killed you to get dressed up Leo?" mom asked as she looked at his ripped jeans and vest with no under shirt "yes mom, it would have, besides it's my place I can wear whatever the fuck I want" mom just rolled her eyes and faced my direction "what are you thinking about honey?" she asked me "can we just have one night where we're a normal family?" "I agree" my dad said "you shut the fuck up" Leo said cutting him off "really Leo?" I said annoyed "deadly serious sis" "I'm going to the bar" I said standing up with my arms crossed.

There were two really attractive guys at the bar one had his blonde locks tied up in a tight man bun his skin was a dark umber color and his eyebrows were sharp next to him was an equally handsome guy his hair was jet black and cropped not messy but not perfectly together his skin was a caramel color, one thing I noticed was he had the most piercing green eyes I've ever seen "what's our next move?" the blonde one said his accent was thick pretty sure he's Italian "not here" the other said as he looked right at me his green eyes bore into me I decided to ignore them and order a drink "hi can I get a jack and coke please?" I asked the bar tender "aren't you a little young signora?" the green eyed guy asked me, who the hell does he think he is?

"I'm 18 not that it's any of your business" "you better watch your mouth amore" he said staring me down with his arms crossed "or what?" I snapped back I could tell he was getting frustrated "you don't wanna know" he said as he lit a cigarette and pressed it to his lips I hate smokers but he looked so sexy but I needed to keep my game face on no body treats me like this my family runs this town "you don't scare me" I said crossing my arms "you little bi-" he went to finish but he was cut off by the blonde guy "Dante focus!" "yeah Dante focus" I mimicked "you shut the fuck up!" Dante said as I laughed, finally my drink had come and I walked away with a bit of pride.

I sat down in a huff "are you alright sweetheart?" mom asked analyzing my body language "I just met the rudest guy ever" "guys are assholes sis" Leo said "don't need to tell me twice" I said as I looked over to the bar and saw Dante watching me like a hawk I shot him a cold glance and went back to our conversation "oh good the foods here" mom said.

Dante's POV: "so we'll attack now?" I wonder who that girl was "Dante?" she sure has a mouth on her "DANTE!" "huh, what!?" "you zoned out on me bro" "sorry I was caught up in thought, what were you saying?" "I asked if we'll attack now?" "oh, yes we will" I never get distracted on a job I'm the boss I can't afford fuck ups especially from myself Nico my cousin and my capo bastone could tell I was distracted "Dante, I found out where that little firecracker came from" Nico said.

I walked over to him and I saw her sitting with my biggest enemies Leo Stakes, Liam Eisenson and Ellie Stakes the biggest crime family in New York "so she's a Stakes now her smart mouth makes sense" I said "the Stakes don't have a mafia princess" Nico said as I analyzed her features "the most powerful mafia family in America have a daughter word gets out and mafias from all over the world are trying to take her one day one succeeds, I can see why she was kept a secret" I said and Nico was paying close attention to their table "you're right bro, she's a spitting image of Ellie Stakes" Nico said "just say the word Dante and I'll take them all out" he said I thought about it but a better idea popped into my head "hold your fire cugino I have a better idea" I said looking at the young girl.

We waited outside the restaurant till she was leaving and soon enough her and her brother walked out "you gonna be okay sis?" he said to her so she's definitely a Stakes "I'm perfectly capable of walking home Leo" she said in a sassy tone "don't get smart with me" he said "night Leo" "night sis" he said and walked off and got into a car waiting for him, we waited till he was definitely gone and stopped her from walking away "hello again amore" I said "ugh, you guys again?" she said in a snobby tone this girl is a real pain in the ass "that attitude again, that mouth is gonna get you in trouble" "what are you gonna do?" she said sounding so sure that she'll walk away from this WRONG "Nico" I said and he walked up to her and injected her with a harmless sleeping serum "let's go" I said as Nico threw her over his shoulder "hey did you guys drug her!?" some random guy ran up to us "this is my fiance and my cousin she had a bit to drink" I said as Nico laughed "oh okay, I thought you were going to kidnap her and do god knows what to her" "nothing illegal going on here so keep on walking buddy" Nico said and he walked away and we put her in the backseat of the car.
