I sat at the table with Camila across from me. We were both on our laptops. I was looking up a guy that was wanted for robbery. I looked up to see Camila concentrated on her screen. I looked back down to my keyboard. I remember we used to steel glances at each other while we sat across from each other eating. I looked back up at her hoping to meet her eyes. But her eyes were glued to the screen.

I saw Emily walk towards Camila.

"Mommy" She whispered.

"Mommy" She whispered again. Camila was too interested on whatever was on that screen. Emily sighed and frowned.

She stepped over to my side I quickly looked up at her sad experssion.

"Mom" She whispered sadly.

"Hmm" I gave her a concerned look.

"May I have a cookie?" She politely asked. I nodded seeing her sad eyes. She looked up at Camila and looked back down.

Emily went over to the cookie jar and took one out. I listened to her footsteps faint. I closed my laptop and stared at Camila. She slowly looked up.

"What" She didn't even keep her eyes on me. She kept glancing down at her screen.

"Did you even notice Emily?"

"No. Why? What happened?" She said looking around for Emily.

"She asked you for a cookie." I said trying to stay calm.

"She can't have cookies before dinner."

"Well maybe you should have told her that if you were paying attention."

"Lauren, did you give her a cookie?" She said more interested in the cookie.

"Camila it's not about the cookie. Once again here you are ignoring Emily. What's so great this time that makes you ignore her?"

"Nothing." She said bowing her head. She's lying.

"You know we used to be so happy. We used to spend every minute together with Emily. No friends. No music. No nothing to keep is from our daughter. Now your busy doing who knows what and with who knows who."

"Lauren I'm not sneaking around if that's what your saying" She said raising her voice.

"It's-That's- Look you can't even understand what I'm talking about." I stuttered shocked at how oblivious she is.

"Well what are you talking about?"

"Ever since we got married we haven't been the same! Nothing has been the same! If it wasn't for that stupid album being done you would still be in the studio! You've spent one week with Emily and I since we got married. ONE WEEK CAMILA! This was the best week of my life! And you know why! Because my wife was home! EVERYTHING WAS SO MUCH BETTER BEFORE WE GOT MARRIED!"

"THEN WE SHOULDN'T HAVE GOT MARRIED AT ALL!!!" She yelled out with tears in her eyes.

I stood shocked at what she said.

"I WASN'T READY FOR THIS LAUREN! I NEVER WAS!!.....I wasn't ready to be a mom....I was never good at it. Before Emily I had so much planned. I wanted to write songs. I wanted people to love my music. I love you Lauren but I wasn't ready to get married...And your right everything was better before we got married. But I'm grateful for it. If it wasn't for us being married Dinah would have never heard my music. I wouldn't have gotten the opportunity to write songs, even if I wasn't the one singing them. I wouldn't have been offered an opportunity of a life time. So thank you Lauren. For loving me. For sticking around when I wasn't there. I do love you..but I can't do this anymore."

She said with tears streaming down her eyes as she got up with computer in hand walking out.
