They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them.

Anna’s POV

Everyone stood up and started to cheer, as a huge number of tables appeared out of nowhere; with food and drink laid out. People started to move around, getting drinks and talking to one another. I spotted Blaze on the stage, talking to a girl that I had never seen before.

A small sob escaped my throat, and Josh looked down at me, before looking in the direction of the stage.

“Hey don’t worry,” Josh said softly, “You have me.”

“I know, it’s just…” I stated, “I didn’t know that he’d have moved on so quickly.”

“What does your heart tell you?” Josh asked.

“I don’t know,” I replied, “But is alright if I go talk to him?”

“Sure.”

Maria’s POV

I watched as the elf approached me and my brother. I had one of the humans’ fizzy drinks in my left hand – a drink they called Cola – while my other had traced circles on the wooden bark of the stage. Blaze had what he called a beer in his right hand; his robotic hand.

Blaze’s expression seemed to harden as he watched the elf approach. The elf stopped two metres shy of the stage, and seemed to glance worryingly between me and my brother. She then opened her mouth, before bowing her head.

“I’m sorry Blaze,” she said, “Will you ever forgive?”

Blaze’s expression soften to an almost sadden look, but his reply was nothing but happy.

“Anna, I forgave you when you told me that you needed space,” Blaze explained to the elf, “I…I had just…you were the first person that I had learned to actually trust…and then when I see you again…”

“I’m sorry,” Anna said, a tear rolling down her cheek, “I hadn’t meant to hurt you so…”

Blaze’s face harden slightly, as he said, “What is in the past is in the past. Let’s leave what is done where it is.”

“Uh, Blaze…I don’t think you have introduced me to your friend,” I stated, “Who is she?”

“Oh, uh…my bad,” Blaze said, “Anna, this is Maria my sister. Maria, this is Anna.”

“How do you do?” I asked.

“I know you’re not human,” Anna stated bluntly, “So you can drop the accent.”

“Alright then, how are you doing?” I asked.

“I’m fine,” Anna replied, “To be honest, from where I was standing before, it kinda looked like you two were…you know.”

Blaze and I looked at each other, before bursting into a fit of laughter. Anna glanced between us, before realising how stupid she had just made herself seem. I watched as her cheeks went a cheery red, and stopped laughing.

“Don’t worry, there’s nothing going on between us,” I stated.
