Your POV

I was rushing to get ready. Eventually I settled with a blue and black bikini. I put a black tank top over it and black jeans and grabbed a black flannel. I was ready. I was pacing back and forth in front of the door extremely nervous chatting with the voices in my head. They kept asking what was going to happen with the date and they wouldn't take I don't know as an answer. Then they got me thinking a bunch of shit. I had never been on a date before so this was new territory for me. What if things went wrong? What if I do something wrong? What if I say something wrong? What if-

My thoughts were cut off by a knock on the door. I walked over and opened it to reveal Lauren. She was wearing blue skinny jeans and a white blouse. "You ready?" She asked me.

I nodded. "Yeah, let's go." She grabbed my hand and walked me to the car. She opened my door for me and I got in. As we were driving it was silent. But not the awkward silence the comfortable silence. Of course the voices in my head wouldn't shut up, so I ended up putting my earbuds in and blasting Chvse - Isolated. I pulled them out when Lauren tapped my shoulder. "What?" I asked.

"I didn't know you could rap," she answered.

I looked at her confused. "How do you-"

She chuckled. And man was that sound beautiful. "You just were."

I blushed as I looked down. "Oh. Sorry."

"Don't be. You were great."

Finally we arrived at the beach. We got out and Lauren got stuff out of the trunk. We walked to an open area and laid some blankets down. She started to take off her clothes and I couldn't help but stare. "Like what you see?" She asked me. I blushed as I nodded not being able to speak. She chuckled at me. "You're cute." I opened my mouth to deny it when she said, "and don't even start it." I pouted. She leaned in and kissed my pout away causing me to blush again. "Now strip so we can get in the water." I did as I was told and she grabbed my hand pulling me to the water.

Once we stepped in she kicked water on me. "Hey!" I exclaimed as I kicked water back at her. And that's what we did. We played in the water. Eventually we got tired so we went back to our blankets and laid down. "Thank you Lauren," I said, "that was a lot of fun."

"No problem, but don't get too comfortable we're not done yet," she replied. She stood up and started to put her clothes back on. "See that pier over there?" I nodded. "Meet me over there in a bit. I'll be back." She picked up the blankets and towels and started to walk away.

"Wait!" I called out to her. "Where are you going?!"

"Somewhere!" She yelled back. "Just meet me there." I chuckled as I rolled my eyes. I put my clothes back on before starting the long walk to the pier.

When I finally got there Lauren was already there. She was sitting on a blanket when she noticed me and patted the ground for me to sit. I did so. I saw her staring off so I followed her gaze and saw the sun setting. It was a beautiful sight. But not as beautiful as the sight next to me. I looked back at Lauren who had a sad look in her eyes. "Hey," I whispered as I gave her a side hug. "What's wrong?"

She gave a sad smile. "Me and Taylor use to come here all the time to watch the sunset. I guess you can say it was our special place."

I looked at her confused. "Then why bring me here?"

She finally looked at me with a small smile. "Because I want it to be our special place now." I smiled back. We both leaned in slowly and our lips met. Her lips were so soft as they moved against mine. I smiled into the kiss. "What?" She asked giggling as she pulled away.

"Nothing I'm just," I paused, "I'm just really happy."

She smiled back. "I'm really happy too." We continued to watch the sun set until it did completely and then Lauren drove me home.

When we got to my house she walked me to my door. "I had a great time tonight," I said.

"Me too," she smiled. She leaned in and kissed me again. She pulled away  and smiled. "I'll text you tomorrow."

I nodded. "Okay." With that she walked away. I went inside and saw the lights on. I could've sworn I had shut them off. I walked into the living room.

"I didn't know y'all were dating," I heard a voice speak from behind me.

I jumped up as I yelled and turned around. "JADE!" I yelled at her once I saw it was her. "YOU COULDA KILLED ME!"

"Well I didn't," she pointed out. "But why didn't you tell me. I'm your best friend you're supposed to tell me these things."

"It was our first date calm down," I chuckled at her.

"Fine, But I need all the details." She sat down on the couch and I followed suit. I then told her everything.

My life was really turning around, I just wish I knew that good things don't last forever.
