---Eiko's POV---
First day of the first term of my third year. My mom straightened my bow and made sure my sweater was pressed."Idols don't need their moms to do this." I grumbled. My mom smiled at me. She tried to become a solo artist after high school, but failed. So now, she runs and idol shop with Hanayo Koizumi. Now, it is my legacy to be an idol.
"This ex-idol loves her idol to be." Mom said. "So yes, you do need me to do this." Mom kissed my cheek. I frowned. Suddenly, Hisa barged into the room doing her washi-washi fingers. My eyes widened. Julia stumbled behind her.
"Do I need to give you-?" Hisa started.
"NO!" I yelled. Mom quickly covered her chest. Aunt Nozomi did the same thing to her at that age. It became a defense mechanism.
"Can I use your iron real quick?" Julia asked.
"Didn't you just press that thing last night?" I asked.
"It wrinkled on the walk over." Julia replied. She walked over to the ironing board.
"Like mother," Mom said. "Like daughter. Eli used to do the same thing."
"You should see you two." Hisa stated.
"I, the world's greatest idol," Mom snarled. "Am not like my daughter at all."
"And I," I said. "Who is a far better idol, am not like my mother." Hisa raised an eyebrow. My mom and I both looked at each other. Maybe she has a point.
"Come on," Julia said. "Let's not be late."
"Bye Eiko." Mom said.
"Eiko-Eiko-Ei!" I chanted.
"Nico-Nico-Ni!" Mom chanted back. I hugged her, then followed my friends.
After passing the front gates of the school, Julia pulled out her first day speech. I groaned at her. What ever happened to that ballet dancer who smiled all the time? She went from happy and caring to cold hearted and strict.
"So the cards tell me-" Hisa began before Julia cut her off.
"I don't want to hear it." Julia growled. "I will never allow a school idol team compete under our good name. It was a mistake to create µ's. I would like to stand face to face with at least one of their members and give them criticism." I bit my lip. Aunt Eli never mentioned she was in µ's. This was to protect Julia from the public eye. I want to tell her so badly, but my mom and I know Aunt Eli's reasoning and can't blame her. At the same, I am not sure why Aunt Eli would hide such a large part in her life.
---Nico's POV---
Eiko and I are a lot alike. She has my eyes, my personalality, and even has her own version of my signature "Nico-Nico-Ni" chant. Her hair, however, came from my husdand, Yu. Eiko's hair was a light red. I sighed as Yu walked into the kitchen.I met Yu through Nozomi not too long after graduation. I was helping at the shrine when Yu came by. Nozomi read his fortune and told him that he will meet the love of his life. I never knew if she was reading the cards right or if she was saying that to set us up. Whatever it was, Nozomi wanted us together.
"Morning beautiful." Yu said, then kissed my cheek. How did I end up so lucky? I have the best husband ever.
"Morning Yu." I said. Yu grabbed an apple and his keys.
"I have a meeting at work." Yu said. "We are discussing the preliminaries for Love Live." Did I mention Yu was a television producer? Every year, he gets to do the filming for the preliminaries for Love Live in the area, as well as the final event. How ironic?
"Have fun." I said. "Nico-Ni loves you." Yu kissed me.
"And I love my Nico-Ni." Yu said. I blushed. After all these years, he still makes me smile. Yu walked out the door. I checked the time. I had to open the shop. Hanayo usually does, but she and Rin are dropping their daughters off for their first day of school.
At the shop, I unlocked the door and walked in. Greeting me was a vintage µ's poster. That was one thing I can never sell. It was one of our last pictures together. Before our final live.
"Good morning Honoka-chan." I said to the poster. I sighed. Maki kept blaming herself for Honoka's passing. I tried to tell Maki that she did her best, but Maki said she could of done better. I looked at the calander by my office. April 3rd. It's been five years, but it only feels like yesterday. The door opened.
Hanayo must be in. I thought.
"Hello Nico." A familiar voice said. It was Honoka's sister, Yukiho. Yukiho and Eli's little sister, Alisa, discovered they had feelings for each other during their second year. After they graduated, it was decided that they would get married. Eli and Honoka were the brides maids and all of µ's and A-RISE were invited. I officiated the wedding. After the wedding, the newly weds moved to Toronto, Canada and would come visit every few months. When Honoka died, Yukiho and Alisa moved back and got an apartment near the school. Right now, they are both teachers at Otonokizaka High.
"Hey." I said. "Hanayo is dropping Suzuka off at school."
"I know." Yukiho said. "Maki was there dropping off Koharu. I actually took the day off since it was 5 years ago today that Honoka died."
"Yeah." I sighed. I looked at the poster and teared up a bit. Honoka gave me hope after she got µ's together. I remember threatening them to disband. I am glad they didn't though.
"I miss her too." Yukhio stated. I smiled at her. That was when Hanayo walked in.
"I was surprised to see Maki out of the office." Hanayo said.
"I know." Yukhio replied. "She is rarely seen outside of the hospital anymore."
"I kind of worry." Hanayo said. "Since Honoka died, she took it harder than any of us."
"You know," I said. "We were pregnant with our first borns at the same time. She with Haruki and I with Eiko."
~Flashback, December 2021~
"You won't believe this." I said to Nozomi. Nozomi, 7 months pregnant at that point, flipped a card off her pile."You're 8 weeks?" Nozomi asked.
"Yeah." I replied. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. I got up an answered Nozomi's door. It was Honoka.
"Hey Nico-chan." Honoka said. "I came to talk to Nozomi. Odalis and I want to know if it is possible for us to have a baby or if one of us is infertile."
"You're trying?" I asked.
"Yeah." Honoka replied. "How's Yu?"
"Fine." I replied. I haven't told Yu about the baby yet. We just got engaged last week. I am kind of worried about his reaction.
"Congratulations on the engagement." Honoka said. She skipped into the apartment and went over to Nozomi.
"Hello Honoka-chan." Nozomi beamed. "What can I do for you?"
"I need to know if there is a hope for a baby in mine and Odalis' feature." Honoka said. "We've been trying, but we've had no luck." Nozomi flipped a card over. She lifted it up. It was the good news card.
"I predict that there will be one soon." Nozomi said. "But go to the doctor just in case." Honoka thanked her and skipped out of the apartment.
"Good this Odalis balances her out." I joked. "Otherwise, that baby is in trouble."
